I booked a hostel for 2 nights through travelstay.com. I paid £16 online, which I believed to be the entire payment. Nowhere as I was making the booking did it say that I would have to pay more upon arrival. You can imagine my surprise when I got to the hostel to be asked to pay another £17, I repeat, NOWHERE online as I was making my payment was I warned that this was not the final payment. I stay in London regularly, and always use TravelStay to find and book the accommodation. They consistently have the cheapest rooms on offer, even compared to my previous favourite sites, LateRooms & HostelBookers. I like the search options, particularly being able to filter by a price range, and sort by distance from centre. stayed at this hotel for 2 nights me and my husband in march 2013,very basic and needs updating but apart from that a good little place to get your head down for a couple of nights, room a bit on the small side and good Engflish breakfast,over the road from kings cross train station and central for for underground,macdonalds is one side of hotel and burger king the other side and further up subway so you will not be lost for getting something to eat i would go back again. We arrived at 2am at the Hotel which was 4 hours over our check in time, but still the hotel reception was open for business and welcomed us in, I don't speak much English, however the receptioned could speak my language I was very impressed. We were pleased with the condition of the room and its cleanliness. The staff at the hotel were very helpful. the breakfast was more extensive than suggested, which was a nice surprise. We were sorry that the room was SO small and Spartan; the en-suite facilities were more like a matchbox. you needed the door open to the room to be able to move in the bathroom! This is a review about the booking system which was clear and concise. We were able to view a sample of the rooms and the prices were clearly listed. The only problem we countered was the payment page would not accept my credit card for the deposit (which I had used only minutes earlier to book train tickets). It was really quick and easy to book and gives a decent amount of information about the facilities and local attractions. TravelStay offered me the one hotel I needed to book at a bargain price - certainly when compared to booking directly via the hotel. It was quick and easy to use and the booking terms seem fair.
