I booked a holiday through travel republic, including flights, transfers and hotel.
Three days after taking my money, they e-mailed me to tell me that the hotel was no longer available. I was unable to get a refund for the flights as these had been booked with a no-frills airline.
I've been left holiday-less and out of pocket.
Travel Republic have been singularly unhelpful in trying to sort my problem out.
I wouldn't touch them again with a barge pole

Same has happened to me and my family ,booked and paid for flights and hotel ,took my money ,recieved e mail confirmation with hotel voucher thought great all sorted THAT WAS 3 WEEKS AGO FLIGHTS AND HOTEL ALL BOOKED .morning before holiday recieved phone call from travel republic asking what passports we held later on during the day was phoned again stating chosen hotel was not available and was offered another hotel ,i told them it wasnt good enough because we were meeting friends and family at hotel we booked ,rang them numerous times to try and resolve matter and all they kept saying was these things happen and we have offered you another hotel but forgive for saying we live in a modern world with computers ,the net and the humble old phone and you get imbecile companys that can go around treating people like dirt and get away with it is just not on something gotta be done.

My partner and I are having the same problem, they are saying the hotel has been over booked and moved us to a lower rating hotel that has quite bad reviews they also offered us a different resort!! erm no!! , we contacted the original hotel and they have said they due to a cancellation we can now stay but we have to wait a couple of days for the re-booking list to get sent to the travel agent/tour operator now travel republic are sayin that they can guaranteed they will get the room so we have to book direct with the hotel and if we do not cancel the lower rating hotel with them today we will lose 20% of our accommodation fee, but we are waiting confirmation from the fist hotel b4 we do this as we possibly could get left with no accommodation We are due to travel 10 days time!! We think the way we have been treated is awful no one seems to want to help!! we just dont no what to do!!
