I do not expect to pay a card service charge when paying by debit card - it's as good as paying in cash, with no card issuer charge to bear in mind. The charge was sprung upon me right at the end of the booking process, so by then it is unlikely I would not proceed, having spent some time entering all the data. As I do not own a credit card and use the internet for goods and services constantly, this is the first time that I have been charged for using a debit card. It certainly puts me off using this system in the future.
