“Too many re-bookings”

As nice as it is to get the money back the number of times that my reservation was re-booked for minor price ajdustments was extremely annoying. If you have any special reservations or booking accommodations it becomes impossible for the hotel to manage for you and once you check in the hotel has no idea what you actually need. Wouldn't go through this again, the money back was not worth the hassle and number of emails… Read Full Review

“The hotel barely believed we had a reservation”

We got to our hotel in Iceland at 1am, ready for bed. Unfortunately, the hotel did not know that we were coming. It took about an hour of me showing them my confirmation, all of the emails, and the Tingo site to get them to believe that I wasn't making the whole thing up. They had never even heard of Tingo. Fortunately they new TripAdvisor, which added some credibility. There were a series of calls in Icelandic to their headquarters before they gave us a key. “Disappointed”

Tingo's main selling point is getting you money back. They got us excited that we'd see some kind of return, but sadly didn't get a penny back. But MORE DISAPPOINTING, was the hotel we booked that was rated 4 stars on Tingo. DON'T TRUST THE STARS. With a 4 star rating and a 4 star hotel at $526 for two nights, one would expect a well appointed, well serviced hotel. I booked 5 hotels in Europe for this summer, and have not seen any refunds. I only get emails telling me that the prices went up and lucky I booked early. Duh, yea, thats why you book early. Waste time… Read Full Review

“Multiple contacts, no refunds”

Tingo is weird. For a company that sends multiple email count downs on how they are watching for a price drop, they are hard to get in touch with when I email them. They have sent me an email requesting this interview on how great it was that they saved me money. I guess if they actually saved me money, I would be happy. “Refund? Really?”

I made a refundable reservation on Tingo, got a confirmation email of my cancellation, but the money never got refunded. As a result, I wound up with an interest charge and a late fee on my credit card. I called Tingo, and got it rectified, and told the agent that I would not use Tingo again, that this was unreliable. My experiece with Tingo was not bad. Unfortunately I can't say the same about the Hotel/Motel that they had recommended for my stay in Richland, WA. I would hope that they do better research on some of these establishments before they recommend them. After complaining about the Hotel they did refund some of the money that I had paid for the room.
