“PACKAGE TO BALCON DE EUROPA, NERJA”

We have travelled with Thomson many times in the past and know they have been good. However this time we were disappointed. We waited nearly an hour on the bus at the airport before going to Nerja ( poor organisation ) There was very little commentary from the representative as would be the case in the past. When we were dropped off at the Riu Monica we waited 25 mins. before the hotel bus picked us up. The Balcon De Europa hotel is classed as a 4* by Thomson but the food is poor and definitely not 4* quality. The representative in Nerja wasn't at all interested. On the way home we were again dropped at the Monica only to find that the bus that was supposed to be collecting us had decided to go off to two other hotels first. This left one member who had nipped to the loo,stranded whilst her husband was on the bus. The driver was informed but drove off anyway. Both the representatives present for this transfer stated that ' they couldn't stop the driver ' and there was nothing they could do. So, it appears that the driver calls the shots and the reps are powerless to assert themselves. The lady in question was very upset.
The overall impression was one of complacency and the golden era of great, helpful reps has now passed. Not really worth doing a package any more
