Just returned from week's holiday at the
Waterfront Hotel in Sliema, Malta. The hotel itself was quite nice with roomy, clean rooms. Although the bathrooms are a bit old they are perfectly usable and very clean. Towels a bit on the thin side and pillows on bed (two) are either much too thin or much too thick. On arrival we were given the wrong room and the wrong board basis but this was quickly sorted by the hotel the next day. By far the worst experience of our holiday was the food. Nowhere near 4 star and by far the worst food I have ever been offered in any grade of hotel. On the Sunday and Monday nights the meals were virtually identical - roast pork Sun (changed to gammon Mon), chicken chasseur with rice both nights, same veg noodles with veg both nights, carrots and broccoli had become green beans and aubergine, and both potato selections identical on both nights. How can this be acceptable for a 4 star hotel?
I have read some reviews slating the flights but can only say that we were very pleased with ours = the trip out we arrived half an hour early and departed twenty minutes early on the return. Can't quibble with that. I agree that the planes seem quite old but that is probably the case with most charter airlines.
