Shortly after booking our holiday with Thomas Cook we discovered other operators offering the same week in the same resort much cheaper. It was too late to cancel unfortunately. We decided to convince ourselves that the extra money with such a well known operator will definitely mean better service. We could not be more wrong.
When the only thing a holiday operator is intending to do is to take you to and from a resort then you would expect some effort put into that! The plane looked old... I mean really old. If you are anything over 5ft 6 then you will struggle with leg space. Food is at its worse. The cabin was so cold every one was complaining to the crew who seemed very well trained to do nothing. No blankets, no TV, no radio...! Yes the flight from gatwick to Dalaman was only 4 hours but it could not have been less torturous. On the way back there was small technical fault and the delay is just under the 3 hour limit to trigger a compensation. The staff did not even offer an apology or explaination. They were almost exercising their right to delay up to 3 hours! After reading reviews here and elsewhere these delays seem to be regular practice, which explains the staff attitude!
In the resort itself the Rep desk was always deserted. We ended up going to other tour operatos to make enquiries and book activities!
I would have loved to say something, anything good about Thomas Cook but honestly there is nothing i can think of that is even remotely positive about this holiday company.
