Thomas Cook....a sorry tale

Just returned from a 1 week holiday in Menorca with Thomas Cook. Where to begin...first we arrived at Gatwick airport with plenty of time to spare. Just bought a round of coffee (which cost an arm and leg) when I noticed on the boarding pass that we had 5 minutes before boarding...so we rushed to drink up and legged it the the gate...only to find no sign of TC staff. Flight was actually delayed. When we arrived at Mahon airport we met the TC rep and asked where to collect the hire cars which we had pre-booked with them. They had no clue and suggested we ask Avis or Hertz, so we queued up and neither had our details. After some further discussion the TC rep reluctantly started to ask some other rental desks...but still no luck. Some 3 hours later and after a heated debate in which the rep claimed that it was none of their responsibility to find the hire car, we eventually found the rental company, located several kms outside airport. When we finally arrived at the villa we found few towels, Wi-Fi that didn't work, a broken cooker, faulty kettle (which kept tripping the mains electricity), dripping shower beside pool that had turned half the lawn into mud..the list went on. Generally it was very tired. We met the TC reps the next day at nearby hotel and expressed our disappointment, expecting some kind of recompense...but nothing. Throughout the week we had no visit from TC to ask how we were getting on. Very poor experience...and not a cheap holiday!
(Luckily Menorca itself is a very nice island with great restaurants and bars, beautiful beaches and fantastic weather...so no complaints with the island itself, just TC).
