My wife and I have spent some £15,000 over the last three years with Thomas Cook. We were previously badly let down on a Florida trip where it took us six months to gain our legally entitled compensation. Last October we suffered an 11 hour 58 minute delay on our return from Tenerife. At the airport, the Thomas Cook staff were rude and unhelpful, and their response to our EU legal entitlement is to hide behind the "exceptional circumstances" rule. I have now had to escalate the complaint with the CAA and will never spend another penny with Thomas Cook or any of their other brands.
