the golden sands hotel is rated a five star hotel as stated in the on the internet, however it is not a five star hotel yet. It needs some improvement such as day and evening entertainment for children and the adults, the hotel beach could be maintained a little more than at present. but overall the staff and very friendly and willing to held at he beach bar staff are also good and always smiling and introducing themselves to new comers. Not too much to do in this location as it is about a 20 minute taxi drive to the main part of Rethymno. However if your like to travel to different parts of the island its ok at this location.
