I was going through the reviews written by some of the fellow passengers in this trip. Was quite surprised these guys have included their names and the names of the staff while writing the review(didn't look at the left while typing it seems...).Anyways,this wasn't my first trip with star tours.I will be going through the things i liked first:
1.Tour Manager had good knowledge of the places we visited
2.Mount Titlis--operator provided plenty of time to enjoy
3.Meals at a restaurant named Bhojan-quite delicious
4.Entertaining quiz at the end of the journey
Now,will elaborate about the elements i disliked:
1.Our Tour Manager was a UK born Indian and has a definite image that all the Indian passengers will hang around and waste time.So very British in his attitude that he announces.."Now specially for our Indian passengers..please don't be late".Being late doesn't depend on the nationality. You don't need to mention the nationality of the passengers while asking them not to be late.I have been on trips with several other tour managers.Never heard a British travel agent announce anything specific attacking Indians.
2.I can understand that our Tour Manager was born in the UK,but since star tours provides Indian food he should have the knowledge about the names of the food being provided.Knowledge of the places aren't just enough to conduct a tour.
3.This was my first trip where the coach became a disco pub with drunken people dancing to loud music. In one my trips with star, the tour manager prevented anyone from standing in a moving bus(something legal in the UK/Europe) but in this trip our manager was one of the dancing participants.Drunken people uttering non sense with a mouth piece in their hand..making a joke of the national anthem...people are so busy dancing on loud music that a tired child wakes up and starts crying.
4.I think this trip would be good for a group of young bachelors who specially go on trips to drink and have fun.But not for people with family.I had planned to take my parents in this trip and thank god now that they did not turn up else star would need to provide a health benefit plan for them..lol
5.The tour manager should make a note that there are people of mixed cultures in the trip and it doesn't necessarily mean that if you keep the majority happy by promoting hooliganism then the trip rocks, since there can be people who are regular customers who make trips here and there with your company and losing them should also matter.
6.My lesson from this trip is it's better to go for a British travel agent or some other Indian agents like Sona Tours(experience was quite soothing with them...)
