I was due to go on my first ever since traveller holiday. This is a big move for me. I booked a holiday to Tenerife for the first week in june 2017. Today I was told there are not enough people going (12) so the holiday is cancelled just like that.i've booked time off work, booked holiday parking and insurance.please don't use this company they are unprofessional and will let you down. If you are going on holiday on your own you need to know you can rely on the company you are going with Solitaire are not a company you can rely on.
Don't book with them.

I have had 2 holidays cancelled with Solitair, they first time they wanted to give me a credit note. The most recent one they cancelled on May 3rd, when I was due to travel on May 16th. They sent me a statement of the money they were refunding me and had deducted £13 cancellation fee. I was livid as I did not expect to be charged for them cancelling my holiday and told them so. They then sent me a revised statement with the correct amount, but no apology. I managed to book a holiday with another company (Solos) for the same dates and there was another traveller who had also had two holidays cancelled by Solitair.

JeanHow terrible.
I find it unbelievable that a so called reputable company can treat customers like this!

To be fair Solo's also cancel holidays if there are insufficient numbers. I rebooked on an alternative and you had a lucky escape! (i have left a review! on here). I am a little confused as to what this company classes as not enough people as there were only four other on my trip (one at a different hotel) and looking at the comments below it seems this was a fairly high number!

I have recently had a holiday to Portugal cancelled by Solitair but was able to book an alternative holiday with a different company. I paid in full at the time of booking with Solitair and they have had my money for two months for absolutely nothing.
A refund has not been forthcoming even after Email request, how long did you have to wait for your refund I am desperate to get my money back

Hi there,
I also had a holiday cancelled, however switched to an alternative (slightly cheaper) and have not had my refund yet either. Almost certainly not as much as yours, but still annoying. Have you received anything yet?

Hello Jaquelineh239,
I was looking for a holiday to Spain for people travelling on their own around my age group - I am 44 years (and female). The Solitaire Holidays for over 40s to Canary Islands, in Tenerife, staying at the Diver Hotel seemed ideal. They claim it is a 4 star hotel, there are already 5 ladies and 3 men booked on it and there websites mentions many nice excursions. Is this the hotel you were booked on?
I want to go this month (August 2017). Are you recommending I do not book this?
Has anyone had any positive experiences with Solitaire holidays in 2017? Otherwise, which single companies would you recommend, please?
Yaso.
