“NEVER USE RED SEA HOLIDAYS ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by lorainegratias on 23/06/2020

This company cannot be trusted. I had a holiday booked for April but due to covid couldn’t take. I asked Red Sea Holidays for a refund but they refused they only offered a credit note that didn’t work for me. I’m a single mum. So I went to my travel ins who advised me that it is the legal obligation of the supplier to refund and that you can refuse A credit note. Because I needed a cancellation letter from red seas to go to travel ins Red Sea are now refusing to give me anything. I am £2800 out of pocket. They are unhelpful rude and breaking the rules. They won’t help won’t listen just say no. It’s disgusting

Don’t use Red Sea holidays. They cancelled my holiday in March, they are refusing to provide a refund and are in breach of the law and their terms and conditions. Despite demanding a refund and saying no to amendment and refund credit note they still sent me a credit note. I have rejected this, the law is on my side. And I will not be bullied. Their customer service is ridiculous, they haven’t made any effort to comply with law or negotiate with me. Never use this company.

“Ended Up with lifetime illness from Red Sea Holiday”

★☆☆☆☆

written by shopdirect on 14/02/2020

Awful rude staff at reception and housekeeping, dirty shower curtain, cracked tiles in shower area, insects,, beach staff rude and unhelpful. Thieves around, watch your belongings especially during room change.! Had a slip on overly wet floor that was not signposted as hazard warning, in restaurant and corridor, the second being serious, swelling and unable to walk from injury. Dodgy doctor called out, avoid this chap like the plague, he just wants to flog steroids and excessive amounts, find alternate treatment.avoid injections at all costs, this dr just does not care and his treatment is unethical. Got charged twice for his visits too. My friend was injected and now has a long term illness, Dirty dining area, hot and cold foods are mixed, birds flying everywhere pecking at bread, health hazard. Dirty cutlery and crockery, greasy smears. Told Abta as Red Sea are sociopaths and just won’t listen dismissing their customers complaint as not genuine despite compelling medical evidence which you have to pay for to present to them, they trash it and you find yourself out of pocket. Shame on Red Sea Holidays UK. Abta upheld complaint and told them to take steps toward conciliation but they refused as they would have to pay. Had to take legal action but they still prefer to pay a parasite to defend them instead of admitting their systematic failings and dereliction of duty and care towards their customers. The UK law defends the tour operator not the customer, it seems. Legal process is geared toward such tour operators so they are not brought to book sadly. The customer has to spend at least 7k to prove the floor was wet so if you have a trip booked, take your camera and film everything, do not trust this deplorable tour operator, you will regret it. A government inquiry should take place as this tour operator should be heavily fined, made to pay damages and monitored if not closed down. The directors should be jailed for attempted manslaughter. Avoid them, if you value your life and limb.

“not a 5 stars ship, not a 5 stars holiday”

★★☆☆☆

written by wwDodd404 on 20/03/2019

I've just come back from a week's holiday on the Nile, and I would like to point out that although the trip was very good, the accommodation on board the ship was very substandard. The ship was rated as 5 stars, but in my opinion (+ that of many fellow passengers) it was more like a 3 stars. The decor was old fashioned, with dark wood everywhere, + the lights in my bedroom did not always work. My bathroom was in need of re-grouting, some of the fittings were loose, + the bath plug was missing. Curtains could not be pulled completely aside + needed to be washed/replaced. Only 1 TV channel was available (+ it only worked once) + there was no radio. It was impossible to read in the bedroom for lack of light. On the top deck, the worn carpet with many holes presented a H&S hazard to those passengers with mobility problems (there were a few). The restaurant did not offer me much choice (I am Gluten Intolerant + had made this clear when I booked the holiday). There was no GF bread for toasting, not GT F cereals or pasta, + only twice was I offered a GF dessert (the rest of the week I had to make do with fruit). The flight was 1 hr late both coming from + going back to UK, but no explanation or excuses were given. The food (I was in Business Class coming back) was appalling + we were not offered any hot drinks.

Red Sea Holidays will fleece you for your money then dump you into a hell hole.
They do not care about anyone’s special requirements or health and safety and provide absolutely no after sales service.
There are better Nile cruises out there, but most have been affected by the revolution so boats have not been, some even infested, this particular one being the worst.
Avoid this tour op

“Customer Relations, Very Poor!!! ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 187Reid on 24/11/2015

I booked a holiday with Red Sea Holidays in June for me and my child to travel to Egypt for snorkelling in the red sea and we were so excited. A week after I booked it, however, they changed the return flight, to a much later time meaning we wouldnt be back in London until late on Christmas Eve. I had deliberately picked an earlier flight for return so we could get back home in time to join our family on Christmas Day and now we won't arrive home until after midnight. They did not apologise to me for this change at all. Secondly, Since the attrocities with the bomb on the plane, and with flights being cancelled, I have been unable to get any answer or sympathy or consideration from them when I have called to query about my holiday, even though BA and Easy Jet have cancelled all flights to Egypt until January. I asked Red Sea Holidays for some consideration for my holiday to be moved after the new year and it was a plain, straight forward NO.. When I told them I have a child, and was seriously concerned about travel they simply said,"well you wont get your money back if you cancel." Red Sea staff are poor with customer relations, I have travelled with many holiday providers who all excell over this company, and I must admit I have never experienced such a disregard for a customer before! I am playing the waiting game now to see if Thomas Cook (who provide my flights) will cancel all their flights like the others until the new year and I am praying I get a refund for nearly £900! I worked so hard to pay for me and my child to go away and I am so disappointed with this companies attitude.

Disgraceful company! Experienced a traumatic event whilst on holiday with Red Seas and my treatment was disgraceful. Not what I expected of a company of this calibre. I recommend that you do not book with this company!

“sharm plaza hotel 4.5 star......... REALLY !!!!”

★★☆☆☆

written by Kingston21 on 08/06/2015

we stayed at the Sham Plaza Hotel Egypt for a week from 23/5/15. We were very dissappointed with it to say the least we arrived around midnight and were taken to get something to eat I say something because i am not sure what it was we didnt eat it. I must say the hotel staff were very nice. We were shown to our family room this was big enough we had booked a 2 bed room but it was very dated and tired looking there wardrobes but no drawers. The all inclusive food was poor our children only had bread for 2days if you liked rice it was ok We went out to eat in Naama Bay. the drinks were served warm and round some pools in tiny plastic cups dont mind plastic if its a decent size. the public areas were very dim, air conditioning did not seem to be working properly so inside was warm. We have been to Egypt 6 times and this is the worst hotel we have stayed in it needs an urgent upgrade inside and out the sun loungers were almost worn out round the pool areas. We were told before booking there were some steps but from reception to the beach pool were 157 steps dont know how people with pushchairs managed We would not return to this hotel or recommened the only good thing was the weather. This was an expensive disappointing hotel

“Wonderful time ”

★★★★★

written by Summerpup on 20/12/2014

Went on stay and cruise in nov. We got onto the boat the grand rose on 3rd of Nov we had such a great time on the cruise the rep was wonderful so helpful she was really kind and if I could have her again I would love to do the holiday again. My husband and I have been to many countries and have never been so well looked after as we were when on this cruise think it was mostly due to the rep we had. The sites we saw were great and she had so much information to tell us about it all and the way she told us it made them all come alive would really go again and tell my friends. Was not expecting it to be so good but the rep looked after us so well

“Holiday (Not) Booking”

★☆☆☆☆

written by oeGutierrez216 on 22/09/2014

I booked a holiday with these clowns (Sept 2014) and called back within 24 hours to tell them that I didn't want the holiday. They just referred me to their "terms and conditions" which had never even been mentioned during the booking, never mind being sent to me or made available. The girl I spoke to was just a robot and kept repeating herself, saying I could only have a 10% refund. She was absolutely foul and was devoid of human emotion. Fortunately, the intermediary I used was very helpful and I have managed to get most of my money back. He ended up making nothing, and red sea holidays still insisted on their pound of flesh (£150), even though they haven't lost a penny. Unless you want to be treated like pond life, don't ever ever ever use these people for your holiday. They are also very happy to lie to you about how safe going to Egypt is. It isn't. It's a fact. Plenty of European countries are advising their citizens not to travel. Use someone else and go somewhere else.

“Shameful behaviour from Management”

★☆☆☆☆

written by TrueReview2014 on 07/06/2014

We had been to the Sharm Plaza before and were happy to return for another 2 weeks. We were having a good time until one evening I fell over large rocks by the badly lit pool and broke my elbow hurt my ribs and badly bruised and cut a leg…that was when we found out how bad this Hotel and the Red Sea holiday Reps/agents really are! BEWARE if you need to go to hospital because you will be told, as we were “get a taxi, your insurance will cover it” In fact we then became invisible! We had nobody to guide us or help with the language barrier or Doctor/hospital procedures, in short we were treated like toxic Waste. Not by the waiters, room keepers and fellow guests (they were all brilliant); but, by the MANAGEMENT! Not one of them offered help or asked if we needed anything and that was very upsetting as we felt so alone and unwelcome. From the Wednesday night of the accident until the Sunday evening when we left, not any of them acknowledged us. We did, however, watch them place outside lights by the pool area three days after my accident so hopefully nobody will have to suffer as we did. Stayed May 2014, travelled as a couple

“Don't use them”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 28/05/2014

Had a dispute with Red Sea Holidays Oct 2013, still waiting to get the matter resolved. 3days before departure from Manchester airport to Egypt we were informed we had to land at Gatwick to pick up further passengers and this was after 3 other previous flight changes. The Grand Hotel in Hurghada was only half open, poor quality food, poor service and dirty dining rooms. Keep emailing company, they state they have respOnded to my complaints re letters but unfortunately only received 1 letter. After several attempts by email to get closure/compensation, they fail to respond time after time. All they do is quote TERMS/CONDITIONS My advice to anyone looking at using Red Sea Holidays is DON'T. I wish we had been informed well in advance that due to problems in Egypt that the hotel was not fully functional, lack of excursions plus unable to buy duty free goods due to having to disembark at Gatwick

But you can't blame Red Sea Holidays for the fact that you chose to book early with the Company, We also book well in advance between 6-9 months in advance and choose the hotel and the destination of our choice and overall get some cracking deals. Someone mentioned Red Sea Holidays whom we had never heard of but we have just returned from Hurghada following a last minute deal and saved ourselves a fortune off the original price and also had a fantastic time, luck of the draw I'm afraid . “Nice relaxing hotel”

★★★★☆

written by on 03/11/2013

The Makadi Spa nicely decorated, rooms lovely as are all the communal areas. On the whole the food was good, the Asian restaurant was our favourite, the quality of food and service was excellent. It's worth knowing that men are expected to where full shoes in the restaurants on an evening. We found the choice and quality of the lunch somewhat disappointing so we used to eat at the buffet or Italian at the sister hotel the Sunwing. Because guests at the Spa are able to use the restaurants at all the other hotels the A La Carte choice is really good. The hotel was very quiet so there was plenty of choice for sun beds etc. tapas restaurant is also good especially if you fancy a late night snack and a bit of a laugh as the assistant manager Ibrahim is very amusing. Downsides: The pools were freezing, alcohol wasn't included in the main pool bar which was the best bar in the hotel, lunch menu disappointing, wouldn't recommend the massages. All in all this is a great hotel and we found it to be very good value for money. It's worth taking plenty of £1 coins as they come in really handy for tips as it's difficult to get small Egyptian currency.

“Ghazala Gardens Hotel”

★★★☆☆

written by MartynandGaby on 01/11/2013

The hotel was absolutely lovely and the pool area amazing and peaceful. You felt you were in a little oasis. If you want just relaxation, this is the hotel to be. Certainly for us, it was just what the doctor ordered. The food is not 5 star gourmet but perfectly adequate and plenty of it. The staff worked really hard to please everyone, and did a brilliant job while we were there. It cannot be easy for them working in 35 degree heat. There were a few teething problems with the Hotel which we expressed to the Rep but all in all we would have no hesitations in going back to the Ghazala Gardens Hotel. Please support this Hotel. “Hotel rating farce”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 28/10/2013

Hotels rated as 5* with attentive staff? How are hotels rated?? Does attentive staff mean only if you tip?? Why are customers treated differently if they DONT complain?? We had the misfortune to stay at Grand Hotel Sharm El Sheik . In all our travels all over the world we have NEVER met staff who EXPECT / HOVER over you for a tip and IGNORE you if you do NOT tip! We have stayed in all sorts of hotels and BB's all over the world many 3rd world countries where you expect nothing but the very basic needs! However, when we stay in a 5* hotel in a popular holiday resort we expect cleanliness, edible food and polite staff. None of which we had, despite complaining several times - each time staff saying our complaint will be rectified/passed on to relevant people, all the time laughing and turning their backs!

The bad points where do I start, Food never 5* 3*at the most if you didn't book the restaurant you had to put up the the worst buffet ever We had to 8 plates to get a clean one. The Indian pay for the better food and all drinks Drinks are water down and the beer is warm. The sports bar you have to pay. Room have a fridge but they don't work. The cleaner took the dirty towels and we got on new ones for 3 day we ask reception & the cleaner with on joy. MOSQUITOES big problem Evening entertainment was pathetic

“Sharm Resort Hotel October 2013”

★★★★☆

written by BrendaRyan on 20/10/2013

We had a lovely fortnight at the Sharm Plaza/Resort the snorkelling off the beach there is second to none. The staff were really helpful and friendly although some of the sales techniques could be a bit over zealous. The food in the main restaurant was never hot and the choice not brilliant however there were plenty of other choices of places to eat and they were all lovely with the C-View being exceptional both with the food and the Staff. Suggest taking sun cream with insect repellent in as the flies are annoying if not.

“Fantastic Layout. Good Staff.”

★★★★☆

written by on 12/10/2013

The layout of the Makadi Spa Hotel was just as on the 360 degree site. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I would have normally given this 5 stars but.....Firstly, I tried to make contact with the Rep prior to arriving (be the e mail provided). No response. I then sent an e mail to the Hotel. No response. Subsequently, I did not get an upper floor room (although the hotel was not busy). I do think that I could have changed the room but after arriving late, my party and I just wanted some food and to relax. Also, there is not really a beach, it is rocky and I do know that some people hurt their ankles. (the pools were great and that made up for it). In the second week, some of the restaurants seemed to run out of food e.g. chicken; tuna; tomatoes and.............the wonderful chocolate pudding!!!! Unfortunately, because the lack of response to my e mails, I do not think that I would return but, as indicated, I would recommend it to others after explaining a few things. Returned after 2 weeks on 7th October 2014

“Sharm plaza hotel”

★★★☆☆

written by on 11/10/2013

Not too bad hotel needs a revamp. I would not recommend this hotel as there were too many steps down from the hotel to the terrace beach. Once there by the beach more steps down to the water, just too much! I was very disappointed with this. The buffet food was very good, but the al la carte restaurants were not worth using. Not once did I have a bad stomach, compared with another hotel I stayed at this year where I did suffer. The staff, chefs and waiters were excelent and also the general manger. I would not return there only because of all the steps.
