The whole experience of this RED SEA holiday has been a disaster from booking to arriving home. ALL aspects have been organised purely for RED SEA's convenience. At no point was our convenience taken into account. The original itinerary was changed and the flight home was changed four times and not once were we consulted or given the option to change or cancel the holiday.
The hotel looked impressive with pleasant gardens and pools but unfortunately that is the best comment I can make.
It was not All Inclusive. The breakfast and lunch buffet were free but the food was basic and variety poor. As for the A la Carte approximately 80% of the items on the menus had an extra charge. This was the case even for basic meals such as pasta or pizza.
The All Inclusive drinks were limited and on some occasions the alcohol in the cocktails was missing.
The service was haphazard, some staff were pleasant and friendly others were arrogant and surly. All expected tips for service.
Our first few days the hotel was like a ghost town as other countries had prevented travel to Egypt. Not the UK though!!!! We should have been given the option to cancel as we neither got the service or the ambience we had paid for. We paid almost £2,000 for the two of us and for the first few days we had poor service, no entertainment and had to guess where meals were to be served.
But once the Russians and Germans arrived on about our fifth day it was all systems go for them. They definitely had to up their game then in terms of service and entertainment.
The flight home was ridiculous. When we arrived at Hurhgada airport we stood at the check-in desks with the clerks sat in their seats in front of us for one hour and twenty minutes before they started checking anyone in. WHY? We had paid for direct flight to Manchester but 6 days before we departed RED SEA informed us we would be flying via Gatwick. When we got to Gatwick we had to disembark, walk two miles around Gatwick to go through security then get back on and sit in exactly the same seats. WHY?
Also to add insult to injury despite constant hand washing, using anti-bacterial gel and being vigilant about water and ice I had an upset tummy the whole time I was there as did my husband for a few days.
Believe it or not I am not usually a person who complains. I try and look for the positive aspects in a situation. This holiday however was horrendous from beginning to end.
We will not be using or recommending RED SEA holidays or returning to Egypt again.
