I booked my flight travelling alone to Cyprus Paphos on line with Olympic Holiays from East Midlands Airport flying with Jet2. Take off was delayed by about 20 mins we were kept informed as to the nature of the delay regularly (something to do with Turkish air traffic control)
The seats were comfortable with plenty of leg room, the cabin crew very polite, cheerful and even at times entertaining; I think the explanation of the sign language for chicken sandwich will stay with me for ever.
The flight time was about 5 hours including the delay, so something more than a news paper is needed to pass the time. I also think that £10.00 for a small bottle of fizzy white wine and a miniature brandy rather expensive.
The tickets for the fight were at the Servisair Desk, I think it would have been useful to know this prior to my arriving at the airport. The Web site only states Airport Agences Desk.
I was stopping at the Kanika Pantheon Hotel in Limassol which had been booked for me separately as had the transfer from the airport. I understand that Olympic Holidays do Holidys here on an all inclusive basis.
The Kanika Pantheon although only a three star was excellent its rooms clean, the aircon was just right and all the staff very helpful and cheerful. There are two swimming pools neither of which were crowded.
The summer we have had in the UK has given me no opportunity to get used to the temperatures on Cyprus, I found the heat when walking around the sea front to be very draining; 35-40 degrees for he week I was there. A bar meal at 17.30 (happy hour) was all I could manage, the food was good and reasonably priced.
If there is any adverse criticism then it is that there is little choice of fresh fruit at breakfast. Also if you are any more than a couple of minutes choosing from the buffet bar you may come back to find your table cleared and relayed.
Finally the transfer back to the airport (70 KM) I don't kow how reliale the taxi's are but 55-60 Euros seemed to be the norm if booked in advance. Although I had heard from one guest that 75-100 had been charged.
I opted for a minibus service Euros 12.40 I would never recommend it to anyone as an Airport Transfer option, try it as a day trip you will see why.
