not so good - wait to talk to someone on helpline.
Arrived at hotel in Madeira to be told that although the room was booked, it was not paid for, so if not paid I would have to pay myself. I phoned Low cost holidays from the hotel and they spoke to reception and were given number for hotel's finance department. The next guest to arrive was in the exact same situation and also booked with low cost holiday's. After checking again with reception a few days later, they said it was still not paid, so I phoned low cost holidays again, they were very helpful and contacted the hotel again, so the hotel confirmed that day that the payment was sorted. Low cost holidays also emailed me back to confirm it was sorted.

While a t reception another guest was complaining to the hotel about being charged twice for the room following a similar situation with booking.com, so I suspect the issue was purely with the hotel.
