We stayed at the Topaz Hotel in Bugibba. A basic hotel but providing everything essential for a holiday. Daily, room cleaned, beds made and towels changed. Effecient and quiet aircon. Meal settings are buffet style, eating as much as you want from a huge choice (including many vegetarian options) with tea, coffee, chocomilk, juices and water included at breakfast. Poolside fully hosed down and cleaned every morning (book your sunbed/umbrella by 'towel' very early!). Quite a rural area but plenty of nightlife on the sea front (12 minutes walk). Excellent supermarket 5 minuets walk, for bottled water (47cents 2.5 litres), fresh fruit/vege, bread/rolls (Maltease bread is delicious!), cheeses, olives, juices etc., for lunch meals. ( We went 1/2 board). Singing entertainment every night was a bit loud if your room is overlooking the pool but pleasant enough. Poolside bar selling ice cold drinks (lager €2.90 1/2 litre) and very good lunches as well. Bus service brilliant. €2.60/day for any bus in Malta, or €12/week. Frequent and aircon. The sea water is crystal clear with most bathing areas being rocky but fantastic sandy beach 10 minutes bus ride, direct to beach, very safe for children, life guard, beach cafe and toilets. Loads of opportunities for diving. Take a snorkel and mask.
