The hotel was good value for money and in a great location. However we checked in after a long days travel after midnight on our first night and the gentleman that checked me in was extremely rude. I have worked in hotels for 15 years and would never allow my staff to handle a guest like that. On check in he took our money and throw a card in front of us, I had to ask our room number, floor level..he did not explain anything about the hotel or its lay out. It was very poor customer service. After traveling throughout Japan we had never come across any reception staff as blunt or rude like this.
During the rest of our staff I have to say other memebers of staff we helpful, but first impressions stick!
