“Impossible to amend booking”

I booked a couple of nights at one hotel, then due to change of plan wanted to amend this to one night only. I could not log in to the site at all (the login/password page just kept on coming back with no apparent errors) so I tried phoning. I was left hanging on for 6 minutes with no indication of how long I would have to wait.
Earlier this year I made several bookings with booking.com and it was very easy to amend these bookings.

This is still not cleared up, I still cannot log in to the site; I have tried resetting my password again but the login page gets me nowhere
