Bogus hotel booking

Booked a last minute hotel in Disney Orlando for the weekend. Got a confirmation email and number. After a long day traveling we arrive at the hotel (Art of Animation) which is on Disney property only to be told the reservation didn't exist. The hotel spent an hour trying to call last minute with no response. We had to leave the hotel as they were completely booked as were all the other Disney hotels due to a Memorial Day weekend. Spent another hour trying to find a hotel and we paid for a Hilton 40 mins from Disney that was twice the price but what choice did we have. I then spent another hour on the phone with Lastminute who said that they had emailed the hotel for a confirmation but never received one. In other words...... Lastminute advertises hotels as available and if you book and pay THEN they contact the hotel to try and make a reservation without knowing if there is availability. The lady on the phone said Disney did not reply to their email (yes because there was no availability that you were illegally advertising) and instead they could offer us a Westgate hotel 10 miles away. I looked at Westgate online, it is not even close to what Disney offers not a reputable hotel chain such as Hilton, Westin etc. I told them to refund our money and have contacted our credit card company to dispute charges from them. They may get away with this in the UK but in the USA illegal advertising is a crime and a company can be sued for this.
