Very Disappointing

We stayed at 16 Villa Blanca's in Lanzarote via James villa holidays in February 2015. What a huge disappointment from the villa location on a housing estate with 48 other villa's, with no privacy at all, the pool area over looked from every angle by other villa’s. In addition the villa is some way out of the main town and beach so you really need a car. On entering the villa there was an awful smell of raw sewage from the downstairs bathroom that filled the whole villa every day of our holiday. The villa just did not seem ready, among a number of other things, there was a real focus on security, but the alarm system did not work for the first 9 days of our holiday, a problem given all the reports of crime in the area in 2014; nor the air conditioning which did not work for the first 6 days of the holiday and had to be replaced. The bathrooms looked great but the hot water system could not even fill a bath a quarter full, which then left no hot water, the bathrooms were more decorative than practical. We seemed to have maintenance men arriving on almost a daily basis. The only positive things I can say, is that the kitchen was well equipped and we were happy with the hire car. The accommodation totally ruined our holiday. Awful. I have complained to the company about our experience and am awaiting their response.
