Hotels, itinerary and experiences were totally not as described by their specialist guide - we can only tell you that we would definitely not recommend the company as so many parts of the holiday of a life time were misrepresented in a multitude of aspects - we were not told the truth about length of journeys, best hotels to stay in or informing us of well known site seeing options on our doorstep even though they are meant to be specialists!

Me and my husband recently returned from our 2 1/2 week honeymoon to Tanzania and Zanzibar which we booked with Imagine Africa. Our trip was extremely well organised and exactly what we wanted thanks to Imagine Africa. They really listened to what we wanted and provided us with loads of advice. We spent 3 nights in Serena River lodge which was really lovely. Great food, delightful attentive staff and a really nice lodge. Our guide was excellent and we saw loads of animals. A particular highlight was fishing on the river which was part of our boat safari. We then went to Ruaha where we spent 3 nights at Mdonya Old River Camp which was a real bush experience (animals wondered around the camp). The food was delicious and the atmosphere in the camp was very welcoming and authentic. On Safari we saw a vast number of animals including leopards and cheetah which was amazing. The scenery was also beautiful. We ended our trip in Breezes in Zanzibar which was a beautiful relaxing hotel. I would highly recommend Imagine Africa and would definitely book with them again.

We have just come back from the most fantastic 2 weeks in Kenya where we stayed in the Samburu - at Saruni - which was breathtaking, Naibor Camp in the Masai Mara - camping at its absolute best and then Almanara Villas at Diani on the Indian ocean. Matt - our Imagine Africa representative - clearly listened to all our thoughts about the holiday and chose this itinerary for us that would give us a variety of landscapes and experiences. He was also very reassuring when we worried about safety before our trip. We didn't need to worry - the camps were so remote and the people everywhere were so friendly and welcoming. All our transfers went smoothly, the food was amazing - really top quality, the staff were always helpful and professional. We could not have been in better hands and, given that we really did have the most brilliant time, we would happily book with Imagine Travel again.

We booked part of our honeymoon with Imagine Travel and I can honestly say from the very first phone call to landing back in the UK everything was catered for. The team were responsive and listened to our requirements. The location and tour were spectacular. Guatemala is just superb, with a range of stays across this beautiful country we were able to gain an insight into the culture. All transport and guides spoke English and were able to provide us with the relevant information and answered all of our questions. Lake Atitilan was breathtaking and a must for anyone who wants to see and stay at one of the Worlds most spectacular lakes. Belize was everything we hoped it would be - crossing the border was interesting but did not take too long on foot! The Belize guides were excellent, providing useful insight into the mayan tribes and local traditions. We have been on tailor made tours with other companies, but I for one would recommend Imagine Travel and we are looking forward to booking our next adventure with this on the ball company.

Eight flights, three hotels, lots of excursions and "handoffs" to other guides and/or hotels--and it all went without a hitch! We would recommend Imagine Latin America--and likely use them again. From the Atacama desert to Santiago and then to Easter Island, we stayed in pretty terrific hotels, ate some pretty terrific food and saw magical and mystical and beautiful terrain and monuments/statues and culture, and more. Lots of hiking and biking and the outdoors that was just, well, amazing! Imagine Latin America did a great job, with lots of recommendations and suggestions. It kept in constant contact with us, leading up to the trip. We loved everything about the trip and about Chile!

Initially, we planned to use American Express Platinum Travel for our entire journey around the tip of South America. It soon became clear that their agents had neither the understanding nor the time to customize the trip in a way that would make it truly memorable, for us. Searching the internet for ideas, we contacted several travel agencies. It was a gamble, pinning the outcome of our vacation to a company that we didn't know; and one that was also relatively new to the industry. The good news....we chose Imagine Latin America.....and our gamble paid off.....big time! From the outset our experience with Imagine Latin America was positive. Every person we spoke to was professional, responsive and convivial. Follow up and travel information was right on point. We felt they had our interests at heart. Few companies have the impressive corporate culture evidenced by Imagine Latin America. The trip wasn't absolutely perfect. I might have upgraded one or two hotels, not because they didn't reflect what we asked for, but because of personal preferences. All else was great, especially the guides, which was very important to us. I am happy to give Imagine Latin America a five star rating..... I expect to use their services in the future....you should too!!

Just back from an amazing holiday booked by Imagine Africa! I am a fussy client, and every one of my needs were met at the crucial stage of booking. If I found a hotel on Trip Advisor I liked, then they would factor that in, even if we changed our plans or had a new idea, nothing was too much trouble. Would have liked to recieve the travel pack sooner as it would have added to our excitement and made planning for our holiday easier but that is all I can say I was less happy with. If you are thinking about Africa, look no further. There are specialists in the field who know their stuff!!

Initially we intended to book our entire vacation around the southern part of South America through American Express Platinum Travel. I've been a member for 40 years.It became clear that even their most experienced travel agents, and we spoke to several, had no intimate appreciation of the cities and experiences we might enjoy. Frustrated, I did a simple internet search and after speaking with a number of competitors decided to work with Imagine Latin America. The hardest part of that decision was betting the success of our vacation on a company and a travel agent, Meike Bracht, that we did not know. Well, that bet paid off handsomely! Meike was great, genuinely interested in doing it our way and I was very impressed by the professionalism and follow up evidenced by everyone in the organization. Best corporate culture of any travel agency we ever used. I stressed the need for excellent tour guides and got them. We may have changed one hotel, due to personal preference, but not because Meike made a bad choice. It was fun, no nonsense experience working with Imagine Latin America, they got the job done and we have no trouble recommending them to others. We will certainly use them again in the future.

My family of 4 just returned from a 10 day trip to Costa Rica. My husband and I used Imagine Africa 18 months ago and were so happy with our trip that we decided to book with them for Latin America. We could not have planned a more perfect itinerary. They were spot on with their recommendations of venue and activities. The white water rafting, zip lining, hiking, hot springs and nature tours were amazing. At the end of our journey, we got to relax at the beautiful resort "The Parador" in Manuel Antonio. I can't wait to book our next holiday with Imagine!

We have recently returned from a brilliant trip through Guatemale and Belize organised by Imagine Latin America. All in all the whole time was so great. I must let you know how incredibly taken we were with the people in general but most especially the guides. They were so brilliant, they told us so much and could not have been kinder. Benny, JJ and Sylvestrie (please forgive my spelling) were incredibly lovely. Sylvestrie even took us via his wife in San Ignacio to pick us up some home made banana bread and a cinnamon swirl. Please pass on our thanks to Via Venture and tell them how great their staff are-each and every one. Thank you for your help and well done to you on your recent award.

We chose Imagine Latin America for our special (40th wedding anniversary-60th birthday) trip because their agent seemed very knowledgeable and was able to offer some sound advice about timing. I described my ideal holiday to her and let her do the rest, she got it spot on. The outgoing flight was long but went like clockwork, the hotels (bar 1) were perfect, the guided tours with well trained, English speaking guides, were interesting and just the right length. The overseas agents Viaventure were outstanding, we have done several similar long haul adventures, they were the best yet. We had 1 stay that was too long at the particular location (possibly linked to on going internal flights) and several that were too short for us to explore all avenues, given my status as a pensioner and flexible dates, it might have been better to compromise a bit on room up grades and have 2 or 3 extra days away. There was nothing i did not like but I would recommend flights avoiding Miami where we spent 3 panic stricken hours in a long queue, only just managing to get our connecting flight back to Heathrow.

We travelled to Namibia with Imagine Africa earlier this year. We booked with Pierre and, once again, the trip was utterly fantastic. This is probably our 6/7th holiday with Imagine Africa and they just get it right everytime, whether we are camping on a budget, doing a DIY self-drive or indulging in a bit of luxury. Pierre and his colleagues' knowledge of Africa is unbeatable. This, coupled with the fact they spend time getting to know their clients' likes and dislikes so well, means it's hardley surprising that you are virtually guaranteed a holiday of a lifetime. Africa is an amazing continent but travelling there presents its own unique challenges. Imagine Africa ensure the experience is exactly what it should be, I wouldn't dream of travelling there without their expertise.

...then this would be it. We spent 2 weeks in Chile and Argentina - the highlight has to be Torres del Paine in Southern Chile: walking, horse riding, food, wine, scenery - you couldn't ask for anything else. Meike from Imagine Latin America persuaded us to spend some time here - in fact, more time than we'd originally planned and she really got this one spot on. Words cannot describe. The rest of the holiday had a lot to live up to, but a few days in Buenos Aires followed by some well deserved R&R at La Bamba lodge just outside BA more than did the job. We loved BA - its huge but has the perfect combination of history and trend setters not to mention the fanatastic food and drink (the Argentine Experience in Palermo was brilliant and a must try experience). La Bamba was equally as good - they can't do enough for you and the cooking is sensational. 5 flights, numerous transfers, many hotels, even more restaurants and, as always, Imagine Latin America absolutely nailed it from an organisational perspective and managed to pick places and locations that suited us perfectly. Thank you (again...)!

Booking our Namibian Safari with Imagine Africa started out wonderfully. The person we spoke to was responsive and seemed knowledgeable. However, once we were there we discovered that we had made an error in trusting his and his assistant's judgment and advice: 1) Since we were traveling in August, we knew it could be cool: we were told to bring layers" and we did, including down jackets. However we were not told that all our lodging would be totally unheated, some in canvas tents that leaked air, all in places where the nights approached freezing and in some cases below freezing. At our first hotel (in Windhoek) we were incredibly cold; things deteriorated from there. The absolute absence of insulation in the camps when the indoor temperature was below 0 was intolerable: the water in our glass froze overnight. Because it didn't warm up a lot during the day and because all spaces, including the dining area, were unheated, we didn't warm up for the first 5 days of the trip. Appropriate forewarning would have resulted in our opting for other lodging or even giving up Namibia for lodging a safari with appropriate heat. 2) After 5 days, we wrote Imagine Africa and requested a change of hotel to one with central heating for our last night in Windhoek. Although we requested this nearly a week ahead of time, we were told that we could have to pay for a 2nd reservation--that no credit would be given for the canceled hotel! So having shelled out over $18,000 for a miserably cold 9 day trip, the agent couldn't manage to absorb a $218 charge. Unacceptable. In a similar way, we were given no refund for 2 taxi rides that had been planned from our first--far away--hotel, even after we shelled out the extra cash to get into a heated hotel that was within walking distance of town. 3) There were also other ways in which we found Imagine Africa to be less than competent: prior to leaving the States we phoned the agent twice to inquire whether it would be possible for me to run at any of the camps, indicating that we wanted to bring running clothes if it were. They "checked" and told me that it was not safe to run at any the camps because of the animals. Seemed reasonable so we left running stuff home. However on arrival we discovered that at only one of the 4 camps we visited was this an issue. At every other camp the manager said it would have been "no problem" to run, either freely or in a more limited area. Clearly Imagine did not check with the camps directly. Since we had made two attempts to check this out, this was a real failure to follow through on their part. 4) Finally, the camps themselves were not adequately described to us and the level of accommodations was too uneven to reflect the very high cost of this trip. At one, no attempt was made to accommodate our food requirements (we don't eat meat; we were given the side vegetables alone, no fish or other source of protein). Subsisting on power bars at those prices is ridiculous. We came home feeling ripped off and not well cared for. And we're not that hard to please. Have traveled extensively in other parts of the world and never had a problem. It's also notable that before posting this review we attempted to contact Imagine directly to let them know how we felt. We were stonewalled. Don't use them.
