The description was accurate and fair. The booking process was efficient and clear, with helpful emails. Our only concern was that when we had a little difficulty contacting the owner, Housetrip did not return our email very quickly but all was sorted out eventually. Lots of apartments to review, with an easy request process and a very easy payment process. Also, the email reminders were nice. It seemed a bit odd that the reservation and payment process involved Housetrip but then they said "OK, now contact the owner for arrival arrangements, etc.". Used HouseTrip twice now for renting vacation appartments. About one appartment, we weren't very satisfied (not clean enough), but apparently, HouseTrip follows up the reviews, because we got a voucher to get discount on our next stay (very cleaver of them :). I've used several different rental house websites, and I think housetrip has the easiest search features. I like being able to see a variety of things -- filtered in various ways -- on a map. The only thing I didn't like much was that I couldn't see availability on the website. I understand that sometimes bookings happen before the website can be updated, but several of the properties that I found were shown as "available" for a long time, when in fact they were not available. The presentation of the apartment was very accurate. Once we accepted the booking our host got in touch with us almost immediately. I was a little anxious when we were asked to give our passport numbers to the host and contacted about whether or not to give out that information. We were met by a really lovely girl who showed us the appartment and where the pool, sea and shops were. Ideally situated for everything. Our DVD wouldn't work the second evening we were there and within half an hour someone was there to look at it. It was broken, but 45 minutes later we had a brand new one up and running! Once the booking of the property has been accepted it is easy to communicate with host through their messaging system. They protect both the guest and the host. Using Housetrip worked out well for myself and the two others with whom I shared the apartment. It was a lot cheaper than renting two rooms at a hotel in May in Prague because all the prices go up after April! Finding the place and getting confirmation of a booking can take A day or so which means it isn't something you can leave till the last minute. Lets begin. I had a wonderful stay in Paris. The apartment is very well situated near everthing you may possibly need (shops, caffe's, boulangeries, metro station, RER, a local small plaza, parking posabilities and many more). The pictures of the apartment reflect the truth. A small, cozy studio apartment with all the utilities you need. Also the host is very helpful and nice. This happened mostly in France where the tourist had left it too late to complain about their accommodations. However, I found house trip very professional and had no problems.
