“Completely false and misleading hotel description and...”

I would like to make it clear to others that if you make a booking with Hotels4u that apparently your contract is with the hotel and not them, they are only the agents - this means if you have any problems they will apparently not be able to help if the hotel in question is not willing to cooperate. This seems extremely unfair when (upon asking for a refund from the hotel when we left) the hotel explicitly told us that our contract is with hotels4u.com and not the hotel. “Good company to do business with”

I have booked many accommodation only deals with Hotels4U and I have never had a problem or found them to be anything but absolutely helpful and friendly. They allowed me to make changes to my hotel booking last year when I read some bad reviews at no cost. “Terrible service no one in the company cares”

Booked hotel in turkey with hotels4u, arrived in turkey 4am local time and got told our agent had not payed the hotel so we could not stay. Had to pay to stay at another hotel and were basically left stranded in turkey. We ended up paying for accommodation all over again in resort. Terrible customer service after making millions of phone calls and sending millions of emails I still havnt even had an acknowledgment of my complaints let alone any money back for my double payment. booked a holiday through expressbookers who acted as an agent for hotels4u, expressbookers went into liquiodation without informing me. i went on my holiday to be told the hotel had been cancelled, hotels4u did nothing to help, i was stranded in a foriegn country with a 3 yr old and no where to go, luckily a family member booked me into another hotel using another company, i am disgusted that this company did nothing to help… Read Full Review

“poor booking administration”

We had booked a ten night holiday through travel agent who booked our hotel through Hotels4u. Everything was confirmed okay but to our horror when we arrived at the hotel after a tiring journey we were told hotel was overbooked. We were offered only one alternative of lower standard than what we had booked and fully paid for. Customer support personnel were rude and unhelpful. We booked a hotel in Tunisia and found on arrival that the hotel was a bit out of town and not as nice as we had hoped. We spoke to the hotel, the local rep and then the UK to explain that we would like to move hotels if possible, and why. The response was so helpful and understanding. I have booked hotels with this company for the past 4 years and have never had a problem. I'm using them again for my next holiday. As long as you select the correct option when you look @ the website then you can't go wrong. “Was worried after reading reviews but neddn't have...”

I had been let down badly by Holiday Inns who had cancelled a hotel booked with Priority points without notifying me. I found this out when on holiday and so had to book whilst in Italy. I had seen a lovely looking hotel on the website in Florence and after looking at several hotel booking sites, found out that Hotels4U were cheaper by £100 for a 3 day stay so immediately booked. This is only based on my opinion, however an opinion which I think a business of their nature should take note of. Since this post I must now add, Hotels4U have been excellent, in dealing with what perhaps they can see as a mistake. They have refunded FULLY the cost paid to them, which is great for PR and will mean I would now feel a second chance to them on my next search for a holiday (which will be soon) will be made.

The shame about this is, it did not have to happen and perhaps they did not look at the whole picture a bit closer, but both the person who first offered the "good will gesture" and Adam below from the PR team have come up trumps in restoring my faith in they are a company run by humans.

Thanks again for eventually sorting it and in a way sorry we had to book the same holiday through someone else in the end as up until this event everything had been good.

PS Adam I was the chap who tweeted my dismay aswell so I must add how impressed I am you have a team scouting for bad press in a bid to put opinions back in your favour. My own company and many others could learn well by your approach to mopping up after bad experiences.

I was wishing to cancel a booking as I was unable to no longer go. Trying to find a contact number was difficult and I kept being redirected to The Thomas Cook site. Eventually I managed to find a customer service email so I emailed, left all the details and awaited a response. There was none so I phoned their contact line. We went to turkey last June with Hotels4u with transfers. We had absolutely no problem with the company. We were even given the services of a rep when we were in the resort. We have booked again this year. Hope your holiday goes well - you always hear the bad news eh!!
