I don't really like using booking agents and would normally end up booking direct with the hotel as you get an opportunity to talk to someone who can advise you. However, due to the dates we needed, the rates were very high (it was during the paralympics) and I decided to look for a bargain. I found a couple of possibilities but they were very different and I was having trouble deciding on my priorities so I called someone at HotelDirect. The person I spoke with gave me her name which was a good start and was very helpful and informative without being pushy. I was still unable to decide and wanted to have a look at other sites before making my mind up. She said this was fine and to call her back at any time if I would like more help. This was a refreshing approach and has greatly improved my opinion of this type of site. The booking was ade woth no fuss and the confirmation emails were sent promptly and were clear and correct. I particularly liked the reminder email shortly before my travel date.
