A Sham

Tarth-Y-Dwr in Flintshire north wales-booked through Hoseasons via website, everything described and even the images were all out of date and at least 7 yrs old. Our Cottage apartment set in 6 acres with garden area, was in fact a flat/apartment above a public house which you actually had to walk through the bar area and eating area to access a flight of stairs opposite the mens toilet to your flat. A make shift front door which you could open with out a key. At the top of the stairs was a door with a men's toilet sign on it and inside was a washing machine & tumble dryer stacked on top of each other.
The flat was clean & tidy both on-suites were old and one smelt of damp. I was ready to go home then, but we had two children with us and the dog!!. We thought we would try to make the best of it. Well the telly's didn't work we could hear all the noise from down stairs in the pub as they catered for the public too, we were the only ones here as it is just a flat above the pub. The 6 acre's had been made into a make shift caravan & camping site, the garden area was overgrown the seating area was old and weathered.The cow barn was converted into a make shift shower and wash room for the camping bit but was not finished and the other half was made into a room! with a snooker table, football table & a bouncy castles all covered in dust, With extension leads all over the place, old furniture piled high in one corner and covered in dust from the breeze blocks used to covert it, the roof leaked when it rained (we r in Wales!)and I worried over the extension leads getting wet, only two of the strip lights worked. We were told by the owner that all that is free-no charge!!! So apart from also nearly getting bitten by a dog who was tied inside a van with the doors open right outside the barn, we were having a whale of a time. Best bit still to come-no complimentary meal (not surprised), the odd ok and nod from the owners who they new we were not happy, I did not feel comfortable at all going to say anything as they didn't seem very hospitable and we felt quite intimidated. Could not get a signal on our phone either, stuck in a pub and my husband doesn't even drink. We had to walk past the regulars every time we came in or out.
Then on the Sunday a christening part of 60+ turn up to have a meal, so squeezing through all of that lot was fun, but still the best bit was on another day a funeral wake turn up with loads & loads of people. Yes we squeezed our way through that too, me,husband, two kids & a dog. By the next day I had had enough and we decided to go home early.
My point is Hoseasons think all the above is acceptable and did not believe that it did not state you had to access the flat through the pub.I complained when I got back and even the lady I first spoke to agreed while we were both looking at the website that it DID NOT SATE ACCESS THROUGH PUB. Hoseans have since changed this and say I MUST HAVE GOT IT WRONG AND THAT THE LADY FROM HOSEASONS MUST HAVE BEEN MISTAKEN!!
They have eventually only offered half my money back which I have agreed to as they have been so unhelpful and it has ruined our only holiday break for 4 years it is such a battle to make them understand, they will not have it that the description is wrong and that the images are way out of date. I would not have stayed in a place where you access it through a pub they changed this after MY FIRST COMPLAINT.
Nothing about this place was what it was said to be-they lied. I went with Hoseasons because of there reputation never again, if you can't believe them who can you believe,they insist I got it wrong but I did not and I will find a way of proving what it said.Our holiday was RUBBISH just like the place.
