I am disputing a charge of over $400 to Green Dot Travel from when I was trying to make reservations with United Airlines and I had some difficulty. I Googled the number for United Airlines website. The search turned up what looked to be Uniteds official website. In reality it was Green Dot Travel. At no time did they ever represent themselves as anyone but United Airlines. I was surprised to learn after our transaction was completed that they had tacked on the charge that was going to a company called Green Dot Travel. It was never my intention to deal with a travel agency. They misrepresented themselves as a United employee. I would never have agreed to a travel agency charge for purchasing two plane tickets . I urge you not to deal with these sham.

“Rip off holidays Ripped me off for over 25% of my holiday ”

I booked this holiday to Portugal on 28th Feb 2020. The operator had a really hard to understand accent. I was told on the phone that it was £258 each and I asked the agent3 times if there was any charges and he said no. Then he called up and said he wanted more money cos the flight was unavailable so he charged an extra 40 but then I noticed they had charged a £50 booking fee so £606 Then Corona happened so I was given a call today (16th April and bear in mind we were supposed to travel on 18th) and I was offered a credit note (lol) from easy jet (like i will use it) and just £250 of the 410 I paid. Every time I've spoken to them I get a call centre in India and they can't speak English. If i could give 0 or a minus figure I would. They are useless and profiting from the outbreak. My advise, stay well clear

“Can anybody help me ”

Can anybody offer me any advice to take this matter further !!!!!!! Due to the corona virus my holiday has been cancelled which aI totally respect now this joke of a company are telling me I’m only entitled to 300 pounds back as it’s just the flights which are cancelled and the hotel is still live that’s why I’m losing out on 200 pounds !!!!!!! The hotel has shut down so therefore I should be entitled to a full refund not just 300 plus they are telling me I may get my refund back in 4-6 weeks !!!!

“Rhodes holiday”

Rang to book a holiday with them which started off pretty reasonable, after going home from work that day to discuss it with the wife she agreed & said go ahead & book , rang up the following day to book & was told only 1 room left therefore price will increase , I said I'll talk to the wife & ring you back & that's what i did , I said were take it , with that they told me there were only 2 seats left on the plane therefore the price is going to increase , after starting off around the £1600 mark the price was now £1900 of which I felt pressured into so went ahead, when at the complex I asked the owners if they were fully booked to which they told me no were only 3 quarters full, so my advice to anyone out ther do not book with these merchants !

“Horrendous”

I booked a holiday with Greendot over the phone and they assured me that the holiday was being held whilst I gave them all my bank details. Received a phone call from a different person 5 minutes later to say holiday wasn't available but could offer me something else nearly double the price??? Be careful of this company I will be reporting them elsewhere as well. Gentleman if you can call him that talked over me whilst on the phone and couldn't understand why I was irate?? Do not use

“Not low cost holidays! ”

I originally booked five star hotel in Portugal via Green dot holidays to find that the hotel was not as advertised. The site says 560 m from the beach in fact it’s a 20 minute drive and in the middle of nowhere. I phoned to explain and that I wanted a hotel close to the beach. they offered to change my hotel however I would lose my £300 deposit. I explained I was not happy nor prepared to do this as it was false advertising. in the end after a lengthy discussion we came to a compromise of £90 transfer fee. I did change hotels and in the end had a great holiday. however I have now received my statement to find that they have taken the full amount for the new hotel plus my deposit plus transfer fee. This has been anything but a low-cost holiday in fact has cost me a lot more than if I had booked this via another agent. I would advise that you look elsewhere and do not book via Green dot holidays!

“STAY AWAY”

Stay away from these they tell you a price then phone you back teliing you its gone up do not book with this company they will have your eyes out. 7 nights at the hotel they class that 2 nights travel so you only get 5 nights be carefull on your flight times they offer because you will lose 1 day easy due to the times

Don’t believe the original price. After being put on hold for 20mins you will be told “this holiday is no longer available" They will however after asking you what your maximum budget is give you the option of purchasing a holiday for £300 more than previously advertised. To say the individual on the phone did not listen to a word I said would be an understatement. Obviously I told him what I thought and have now booked through a well known agency for a fraction of the price. Do yourself a favour and DONT TRUST THEM!

“leave well alone”

Tried to book holiday today with Cheeky Monkey Travel and got offered a holiday with Green Dot Holidays. Agreed all terms with man on phone gave details price agreed to be phoned up 10minutes later being told hotel we wanted was now not available and we were stopping in different hotel. I declined this offers on show are not ever available company to fill empty hotels with poor ratings. my lesson if something seems to good it probably is. Please steer clear of Cheeky monkey and Green Dot.

“Wasn't told about cats!!!”

I booked holiday to Portugal was offered the Casablanca inn hotel sounded great and I was happy, I arrived at hotel in the evening and all seemed ok, the first morning I went for breakfast and discovered cats lying around the lounge seating area, towels allocated for them on the seats, I counted 3, immediately I was uneasy as I am asthmatic and very allergic to cats,, I had breakfast went back to my room and set about trying to contact green dot the customer service number kept coming up not valid so i called the pay balance number finally spoke to someone told her my concerns she told me to leave it with her, she called me back after an hour or so told me someone had spoken to the reception and they were told that there was "only 2 cats living here and they were only allowed in the lobby" I told her I'd seen more than 2 and actually had to chase one away while I tried to get in my room!! However it was clear nothing was going to be done to help me. I feel this is something I should have been told before booking there is no way I would have booked this given my health concerns!! .....never again!

“Waste of Time”

I tried to book a holiday under Cheekytrip to Ibiza and after going through all the details and waiting for a call back I was advised that there were no more standard rooms available & that while they can go through a different supplier it would cost an extra £80pp more!! Considering we look for holidays under price brackets to make sure we can afford it they don't keep real time information on availability meaning each time you try to book you could be wasting 20 plus minutes each time. The staff were professional but as for the way the system works, I won't be using them again. If it's not available at the price advertised don't advertise it!

“Glad I read reviews - not what it appears to be!!”

I was about to book what I thought was an amazing holiday, ticked all the boxes, perfect location, 7 nights all inclusive deal and at a price that was (so I thought) unbelievably reasonable. I rang Green dot holidays to be surprised that what appeared to be the price on the website was intact what they offered (going well so far) however, I have always been a little apprehensive about some websites so always do read up prior to confirming booking, (I told the company I would ring them back).. well let's say I am glad I read the reviews.. some comments made about them not offering direct flights (alarm bells) and then adding additional costs at the last min.. So I did ring back and asked all the right questions.. surprise.. Not only had the price increased in the space of 5 minutes it turned about my short haul holiday did actually involve 10hr stop overs each way.. They then informed me for a direct flight (4hrs) would in fact cost us another £100 each (plus extras).. when I challenged this I was rudely informed nobody does direct anymore (it's not my first time booking so don't insult me).. so my perfect last minute cheap holiday was not what it appeared, I wasn't getting 7days this would have been less then 5 in reality with lots of hidden extras on the final payment.. Needless to say I have now booked elsewhere at a cost (no hidden extras and direct) at a price that's certainly more appropriate.. So glad I asked the right questions and also read the relevant reviews! Be careful if you decide to use this company.

Agreed price for seven days in cyprus which was £565 for me and my girlfriend . Then give them my card details to pay £300 deposit then pay the rest in august.They promptly took the disposition then 10 mins later a phone call saying the airline price had changed so I would have to pay extra even though I agreed the price of the holiday.not my problem so spoke to customer services no help so asked to speak to a manager surprise surprise in a meeting.will be phoning tomorrow to demand that they honor the price first discussed this was a special holiday in which I was proposing to my girlfriend so hopefully they will sort this out

Phoned greendot holidays to book a holiday in Cyprus agreed a price of £565 for me and my girlfriend.Then the phone call bumping the price up by just over £100 pounds.phoned customer service's​ to vent my angerbut to no avail.asked to speak to the manager but unavailable.will be speaking to him or her tomorrow. This wasa special holiday to propose to my girlfriend and just hope it will be resolved tomorrow. Will update tomorrow with the outcome

Phoned the company back and got to speak to a supervisor who offered me a £20 discount which was refused.then told that if I cancelled i would lose my£300 deposit.Not so as they used it to purchase the flights. I know this because I phoned the airline and was told that they had and the flights are booked in my name and can't be cancelled.so with the flights booked i booked a hotel myself.it show's that if you do a little research you won't be ripped off by this company.dont let them think you are stupid and do nothing do a little research and save yourself over£100 and no loss off your deposit .

Just phoned greendot holidays to cancel my hotel only to be informed that I have to pay the balance payment of £363.of.course i refused. Then i was put on hold as i told them that the deposit i paid had been used to pay for the flights.I know this because I have phoned the airline and this was confirmed.after being on hold i was told that now the cancellation fee for the hotel is £25 per person.big drop from what they wanted 15 minutes ago.for what they have put me through and what they tell you i will not be paying anymore money to them.please be aware that if they take a deposit from you check with the airline as my deposit paid for the flights to which they are mine and cannot be cancelled.if you do have to book with them please do not hand any money over to them until you get the total price for your holiday and watch out for the extras they charge you.my advice would be to go online and sort them out your self it's cheaper i saved over £90 on baggage and transfers

Do not go near this company !! They take card details, waste your time going through everything, ring you back in half hour saying price has magically gone up! Even at the beginning when he was going through everything he then quickly said the overall price ( and secretly added 40 quid each) it's only because I checked it properly that he then took the price down the the original price he quoted me. It's a rip off company. Do not go near it. How on earth they havent been shut down is beyond me!!

Never again would I use this company money grabbing company !! Asked to go Majorca the man then booked Barcelona not ideal for. 2 year old! Won't let me change unless I loose my £200 deposit Now called again to check everything and the stupid man hasn't booked a suitcase even though I paid £60!!!! Absolute joke!

“robin hood should run this company”

booked a holiday with them, never again. Firstly we were told we were flying Glasgow to Barcelona, only when we had booked and paid in full did we find out we were flying Glasgow to luton then on to Barcelona after a 10 hour wait between flights. we were told if we cancelled we would lose 30% of what had been paid as an admin fee. We endured a 135 minute transfer that was supposed to be 75mins, arriving at the hotel at 2am with no food or drink available to us. same on the return journey collected at 2am again. left outside Barcelona airport as the terminal hadn't yet opened. by my counting this gave us a 6 night and not a 7 night all inclusive holiday. the bus on the return transfer had a roof window held open with wire so couldn't be closed. ffffffreezing. ive emailed this company twice without a satisfactory response. the price quoted on the website is not the price you will pay. at at least another £100 per person. don't use their transfers as they really couldn't care less. this holiday was on 3rd june until 10th june 2015. one week ago. terrible customer service

“Terrible! Awful! Don't!”

Do not book a holiday with this company, they sell holidays at hotels they have never visited. Our's was a disgusting rat hole in Turkey, that they said we should have checked out before going! How? By using their site maybe, like we did? The pictures of the hotel are mainly of the hotel next door. When we phoned the emergency numbers one of them was disconnected, the other was answered by a girl who said she was there for agents and not customers and hung up. Don't!Don't! Don't!

I'm really worried now that I have booked a holiday, yesterday lunch time the money went out my account immediately, after a call back to say flights had changed and needed an extra 70pp, I said not to bother and I would leave it then. Money gone out, still no confirmation email or booking details sent. Now looked at all these terrible reviews. Any suggestions of where to go for help? Never experienced anything like this before.
