I booked a hotel in Liverpool but cancelled my reservation within the right timeframe. I was informed that I will receive my refund within 21 working days however, I am yet to have it refunded and it's been 5 weeks now. I have sent countless emails and keep been told the refund has been authorised although I am yet to receive it. I cannot understand how they are still been allowed to trade in the UK if they keep doing this with no accountability. Avoid them like the plague!!… Read Full Review

Hi 123Olson, Have you had any luck with getting your money back yet?
I am in the exact same position as you except in Ireland.

I am so frustrated right now and everytime I ring, I'm getting different excuses for why my money hasn't gone into my bank account.
I've been waiting since the 1st of April now for a refund.

They took my money and cancelled my reservation after 2 days because they did not have a room for me... Refund was issued but I am still missing 22cad$. Booked a standart room with Gala. When I rang tomy booked hotel directly ,they sad my booking was made for economy class.Than I tried to ring to Gala, but each time when I press a button to conect me with right depo, electronic voice start repeat same instruction.And again you pressing a buton, voice repeat instruction from begining.Than I have found a live chart.And one of assistance told me that economy and standart room are the same? I booked a hotel through Gala 10 days ago and after reading reviews on the hotel I rang Gala to cancel. I explained to the agent what the problem was and he agreed to cancel the booking and sent an email with the details. After a second phone call I received a refund today of the full cost. More than happy with the service received from Gala.

DO NOT USE GALA HOTELS OR COLONIAL TOURS. They are inept and unprofessional. They charged our credit card and then provided confirmation of our booking at a specific hotel which we wanted to stay at in Varadero, Cuba. When we arrived at the hotel, after travelling all day from an international destination, the hotel had no record of our booking at all. We had a problem with our booking at our hotel.We did get the problem solved after 3days but the galahotels phone system is a joke and we spend hours of our holiday going in circles waiting and paying long distance fees and never getting through on the phone system. We only got through because we finally kept trying new reservations. We count ourselves lucky that we only had a small problem and would never book with them again. I cancelled my bookings (cancellable booking) and am amazed that their T&Cs state that refunds take 21 working days (that's over 4 weeks!). When I called their customer services - which is in Turkey (a London number), they stated that they'd not received my payment - I could clearly see it was on my credit card bill. Booked and payed a hotel in Cuba, "SuperClubs Breezes Varadero", through Galahotels. Entering the hotel, there is no reservation nor payment made, thus having to pay again for the hotel. Tried their UK number explaining the situation, they say they would fix it and revert back. Nothing happened, so called again to. We had Hilton Amsterdam reservation through GalaHotels. Com upon arrival to the hotel we were told that our reservation does not exist. My Credit card was charged during reservation process. “Never book hotel room”

The communication channel with galahotels is horrible: by mail the answer is delayed and by phone it's impossible.

They asked me to send a photo of my credit card, which is illegal in my country. I paid by debit card, the transaction was ok and no company has ever asked my to send a photo of my credit card. Because if refused to do an illegal action, the told me the reservation (already paid) wasn't done.

Finally I sent the photo and I get my reservation, but I never ever will use this

Yesterday I made a reservation at the Melia Cohiba in Havana for the end of February through Galahotels. Everything went smooth and I got vouchers right away.
