After making an internet flight booking with fly24.co.uk we received an email from them asking for an email with a copy of my passport and credit card (blanked numbers) as a security measure but meanwhile indicating if we would not provide this a charge would be made to our credit card for cancellation of the flight As this seemed highly inappropriate, we googled and found several people that had already been treated poorly by this company. Below you can read how we responded to this matter. With reference to your email below, where you also can fine all your referencing numbers etc., the following: It is highly inappropriate to ask the information you requested. Even the terms and condition of our bank and credit card provider forbid us to provide such information to third parties We were informed by the credit card provider that you have made 2 booking of .01 Euro cent. Hence there is no need for you to ask or receive such confirming information as copies of passport and credit card And then state you charge us cancellation fees if we won't proceed with providing fore mentioned copies. Internet search shows that your company is scamming people out of money charging cancellation fees. We can consider your action as a criminal and fraudulent offence, we have as such informed the proper authorities of you handling and actions. As a measure to protect ourselves from you/your companies, in our opinion offensive, criminal and fraudulent dealings, we have discussed the matter with our credit card provider who was already familiar with previous similar cases. As a result we have completely blocked the credit card for future and awaiting a new card. We hope that the authorities that we reported this to will take appropriated action and in the hope we can prevent other people falling in you trap we will post this message on blogs, twitter, websites, etc. to warn innocent consumers.
