Booked a trip to Thailand and purchased the cancellation insurance for just in case, due to an issue which arose I needed to cancel. I gave 44 days notice, only to find out I'm charged $265 plus $200!!! Totally outrageous. Do not use or trust them.

“DON'T EVER USE FLIGHTHUB”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 19/03/2018

Apparently they are a Canadian company but the people that answer are in the Philippines, rude and belligerent and will not transfer to someone in Canada. My husband purchased a ticket in Dec 17, 2017 to fly by Aeromexico. We paid $692.82 and two days later Dec 19, we cancelled as he was not going to be able to fly in February. We were charged $150 Cdn as a penalty for cancelling. My husband now wants to fly in April. We were on the line for 4 hours and were never able to get them to book him. We asked to be transferred to a supervisor who was no help either and wanted to sell us a flight that was not what we wanted and wanted to charge us $400 more. Not only that, Aeromexico was not notified by FlightHub that the ticket had been cancelled and now they want to charge $150 for no show, USD$200 for a new ticket and $15 service charge plus tariff change. I have put a complaint with Aeromexico and I am waiting for a reply. Flighthub is the one responsible of notifying the airline not the passenger. We want Flighthub to clarify this with Aeromexico, otherwise, my husband will never be able to fly that airline. We were told to either take the flights plus $400 or lose our money as they are not willing to reimburse us. We are not stopping until we get our REFUND back!

“Once they have your money, they're done with you”

It is oft said that you truly get what you pay for, and this is no truer than when dealing with Flighthub No question, Flighthub often offers the lowest prices, but beyond granting the customer the privilege of using their website for a single transaction, they offer absolutely nothing. We have been following flights for a multi-city two week journey in Australia, and last night received an email from Flighthub advising that the price for the itinerary we needed had dropped to an acceptable level, and as there were only seven seats left, the website told us we had to hurry.....so we booked it and paid for it. 1 hour and 22 minutes after receiving our online confirmation and receipt, Flighthub sent another email advising that the price had dropped yet again, that there were only seven seats left, and we had to hurry... We contacted what Flighthub loosely refers to as their customer service, thinking that we could take advantage of the new lower price ($50 per ticket), given that it had dropped so soon after we booked. Flighthub initially suggested we cancel the existing reservation and rebook...they would charge us $150, leaving us spending $50 more in the end. Even after a lengthy discussion, Flighthub was unwilling to bend. We finally got to speak to a supervisor who took a somewhat different tack....he told us that we could not cancel our booking under any circumstances, and under no circumstances would Flighthub refund the difference or even meet us halfway. Had the price dropped a day later, or more, I can understand Flighthub not wanting to assist....but, really...less than 90 minutes? And those big orange words "Only Seven Seats Left" and "Seats Limited" on both emails....this suggests to me that Flighthub is disingenuous at best, perhaps fraudulent at worst It is clear too that Flighthub customer service staff are no doubt trained to be dismissive, condescending and unhelpful....it may have taken some of the sting out of the experience had I felt for a moment that the people I talked to weren't reading verbatim from a script. Our experience certainly mirrors what so many others have noted; I would hope that Flighthub takes heed and makes changes to their business model. Until they do, we certainly won't use them again.

“I called in to understand what my options were should...”

I called in to understand what my options were should I want to cancel my flight. I was told there would be a fee of $125 and I would receive a credit for Air Canada and West Jet to use for future purchases. Being nervous about hidden fees I repeated back to the agent "So the only fee I will pay is $125 per person?" I was told yes, that is correct. "And I can use my credit for any future booking as long as I book through your site?' 'That is also correct." In reality when I received my credit I discovered that it could only be used for flights to and from the original destination (the entire purpose of cancelling was to change the destination), and that I would be charged an additional $200 per person to rebook. I spent hours upon hours being bounced around, and explaining that the agent had intentionally or not, provided incorrect terms. I was told repeatedly that they would do nothing about it. I even requested the call log to be reviewed to no avail. This was a distressing experience, as I've never in my life had issues with an organization providing me false information and not acknowledging or rectifying it. This behaviour is certainly immoral, if not illegal. I will be submitting a complaint with the BBB and FTC at minimum, and exploring other options. This could have been easily resolved, but unfortunately there is no concern for customer service or ethics. Please don't let this happen to you. I've booked through other sites like Kayak and Expedia and dealt with great staff.

“Terrible customer service and questionable practices”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Ashley446 on 10/10/2017

My FlightHub is a despicable site. Do not use it. They have poor customer service, fraudulent charges, no responsibility and poor ethical and financial practices. to I had the unfortunate experience of trying to book a flight them, the problems I encountered are too many to list the most important are 1 . They attract you with low fares but when they charge the hike the prices up 25 to 50 percent 2, -They send confusing messages first they tell you your booking was successful and then 2 hours later send messages saying your booking is canceled 3.-After trying at least 10 times to book a flight I called them and they told me to directly to the airline, they even provided the phone number. 4.- 15 hours later I discover a charge for the flights at 30 higher cost after I have already made my reservations with another site. 5.- Refuse to canceled charge and claim that send a notification (15 hrs later) so from the point of view they were fully compliant with their own guidelines 6.- They charge 475 dollars for processing and cancellation fees. Highway way robbery is a better description of their services. BEWARE AND AVOID THEM LIKE THE PEST.

“On line booking messed up royally”

written by CarolJ1946 on 16/08/2017

I went online trying to book with Sun Country... sent to Flight Hub ... went through process .. clicked on AM flight went thru everything ... no prior confirmation on what I was booking and when finalized it booked me on PM flight. I immediately called agent and explained what happened. I need this changed or chancelled. She wanted to charge me $75 to cancel. I immediate asked for supervisor. Had to get pushy to get supervisor. They did resolve problem; but I will never, never use that site again. They also tried to charge me $11.95 for seat assignment which I didn't make.

“Left over seats”

★★★☆☆

written by ttGrady229 on 28/05/2017

I recently used Flight hub for a trip to Melbourne, Florida. I have family that lives nearby. I paid extra for two seats together in the mid-section of the plane. Most other travel sites do not charge extra for this. The remainder of my seats must have been left overs because they were the very last seats on the plane, found in the very back of the plane and were not together. I found this to be very annoying since the cost was the same or more than normal. If you like the convenience of choosing your own seats, I do not recommend this travel site. I would have thought since I purchased these way in advance I could have a choice of seats and not have to settle for very uncomfortable seats where I could not lean back during the whole flight.

the extended cancellation policy is cheating
the agents are not honest, when we want to cancellation they just want to charge the penalty even we have the above plan and paid #19.99 for it, they will go around and around, the agent she said the penalty is $150.00, we disagreed, then she said minimum is $100.00, we disagreed and request pass to supervisor, when he came to the phone, he said will fully refund, except the $19.99, request wait for 15 min, 20min come back, request wait again, and said doesn't know how long, we insist need to know around how long, the reply (15min), come back 20 min and said cancellation with penalty, the total we spent 2 hours for nothing, how is customer service dishonest

With so many reported bad experience about this flighthub company, isn't there anything that the Canadian government can do to shut it down? I don't think companies like this should be at the peril of consumers. We need to protect those consumers that may be vulnerable, such as senior citizens. Friends of ours mistakenly confused flighthub (thinking they are using the flight centre) and booked a return flight. Flighthub booked the wrong return dates and they refused to correct - and also they charged "purchase guarantee" $40 fee - that wasn't made clear in the transaction. I know that consumers need to be vigilant, but we also should prevent such activities. Your thoughts?
