Madeira is a beautiful island , people are friendly and the food is good. Plenty of things to see and do, however, the beaches are not anything to write home about . Would that spoil your holiday here? Only if all you wanted to do was lie in the sun on a beach ,day after day to go home with a tan.
There are piles of hotels on the island and more being built as we speak. This can be a negative especially if like me the hotel being built is right opposite where you are staying. Even so it did not spoil my holiday.
