Vienna on Ice

We were booked in with Easy Jet and although the flights were full they left on time and on schedule. The times suited our travel arrangements. We arrived at the Trend Schonbrunn Park Hotel and were checked in efficiently although our rooms were not ready. So we went into the Park and visited the Schonbrunn Palace and Christmas market which were both worth a visit. The hotel is historic, the guest house for the a Palace. Our bedrooms were in the modern extension at the back, quite a good size and comfortable and quiet. The cleanliness of the common part stairs and our bathrooms could have been cleaner. I have always found Germans and Austrians usually very good at this.
The breakfast was in the old ballroom, very impressive. The choice at the self service buffet breakfast was very good.
To get into the centre of Vienna was just a metro ride away and the station was near the hotel. The public transport system in Vienna was very efficient.
All in all a very good holiday,
