The Sofitel was good, rooms were excellent, ours 143 had a garden in front of our terrace. Going in October was quiet and the weather in the low 30s. Essaouira not as brash and in your face as Marrakesh. A wonderful discovery with a direct flight from Luton. The only downside was the food in the Hotel, we have stayed in Sofitels before in Marrakesh and Agadir, and the food was outstanding. However, in this Hotel the food was average. The Hotel ran a complimentary minibus into Essaouria but it finished at 6.30pm. I had booked half board, but on reflection if I was to return to the area which is highly likely I would book Room and Breakfast because there are wonderful restaurants in Essaouira itself, which was a 10 minute ride from the Sofitel.
