Review of Fleetway Travel Northern Lights Trip to Iceland. Booked originally through The Daily telegraph, via Secret Escapes.

Very good value. Hotel was Nordic Hilton in Reykjavik, and we were given an Executive Room, with access to the Executive Lounge. This was a fantastic bonus as there was free wine and food. The trips were all booked and we were collected from and returned to the hotel, which was great. Iceland is a great tourist destination.

The cost included all the trips (Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon and Northern Lights) but it was not clear at the Blue Lagoon if it was only the bus fair to the Lagoon, or whether it included entry. We persuaded them the token included entry, but we might have blagged our way in. You need to rerad the small print very carefully.

The flight was via Wow Air. Cheap no frills, but you got an OK seat. You had to pay for food and drinks, but the flight was not too long. On the return, we took water and sandwiches. Luggage was brought out to the carousel quickly. Parking booked on-line at Gatwick was cheap (£35 for the 5 days.

Only complaint was that we did not read the small print carefully enough. We had a hold baggage allowance of 20kgs each, but failed to notice that we could only take one case between us. We had packed 2 cases, because we had boots and cold weather gear, so had to pay for the second case (£35). Other people we spoke to (perhaps more experienced travellers) had picked up on the limit of only one case.

The walk on baggage limit was 6KGs, which is pretty low.
