Sahara Palace Marrakech: Paradise

The Sahara Palace Hotel on the outskirts of Marrakech in Palmeraie was a perfect oasis for a relaxing break. My husband and I were not that interested in the souks, we wanted a quiet and relaxing break away from the cares of work, and that is what we got.

Fabulous rooms the size of suites with huge dressing rooms and bathrooms, balconies, and gilded beds; all set around a riad style courtyard with fountains and plants. Truly magical.

The hotel's main rooms were stunning, the food was good (though London prices or higher), and the service was magnificent - the staff couldn't do enough for you.

The pool was beautiful, with extensive gardens and a spa out of 1001 Arabian nights, with an indoor heated pool.

There was a free shuttle to the heart of Marrakech.

If you want an oasis of calm then visit this hotel. The only sad thing was that it wasn't very full - the staff and the surroundings deserve more visitors!
