I was astonished to find out that Expedia charged me more than $70 over a three day stay than the actual hotel did! It was no more convenient than booking through the hotel. I could have saved myself the extra money and the insult from the more than lackluster response from their "support" staff regarding my query. Copies of the actual hotel bill versus my expedia bill are available upon questioning.
I'm in retail sales and I understand the need for a profit, however, to earn my business, by "saving me money" all the while charging a considerably larger amount than the original retailer...sounds a bit like scalping, or worse!
Meanwhile, my stay at the hotel was ideal. Their staff did a great job, regardless of my displeasure and now discontent with Expedia.
