I made a booking by phone to Expedia for a holiday in Istanbul. 24 hours later when I realised I had not received confirmation details I rang them and was told my booking had become void and my credit card would not be charged - I needed to re-book. Unfortunately my card was charged! My attempt to get money back from Expedia has been a nightmare. A succession of phone calls lasting hours always ending with either a promise of repayment within 10 days or a promise of a call back from their 'escalation department' - neither ever happens. I did eventually get an email detailing how I would get my refund - a component direct from British Airways was repaid immediately the component from Expedia never materialised and I have had to refer the issue to my credit card company. Courteous staff but a disgraceful approach to customer care!
