Recently attempted to book return flights within Europe with another well known travel agent. Since the other agent came up with a very high bill I tried Expedia. Their website was easy to use and their final charges were very reasonable. “Paid business class but got comfort class”

We purchased a business class return flight from London to Istanbul using Expedia.co.uk and were disappointed to learn that business class didn’t even exist on the planes we were travelling on. To make it worse we even called on several occasions to confirm the business class would be as advertised per the airlines website and were repeatedly told it would be. According to their PR they are the number one Only true if you consider their ability to fail dismally to deal with customers. Recent booked a trip to New York and Toronto, having confirmed the flights I then received (within 72 hours) notification of a change to the return flight which took a whole day off our trip. Tried to book a holiday online with Expedia but the booking failed at the payment through my credit card - excuse card not accepted please try another card - this happened twice on my card and once on my wife's. Rang Expedia on there help line and tried twice more via there service agent to no avail. Used my debit card to pay which left me over drawn before transferring money back to my account. Booked a weeks holiday in Dubai (flights and hotel)but didn't receive e-mail confirmation. Had to ring to chase up and got it a week after booking. We didn't receive the ATOL certificate after 24 hours of booking so we telephoned. We were told there were technical problems but we were promised we would receive it in 72 hours. “Rip off merchants!!!!”

We made the mistake of booking a hotel through EXPEDIA. Arrived at hotel, room was dirty and full of cigarette smoke. We decided to not stay and were told we would have to get a refund from EXPEDIA. The money we lost was £130.00 and to this day we have not received the refund. On contacting customer service they pass you from pillar to post and make every excuse under the sun, also asking for irreverent information. “One problem after another”

Changed our flight without telling us. Only left us 32 minutes to transfer from one terminal to another in the US. (Impossible) in fact they did this on both of our changes. Very rude customer service. Would never use them again… Read Full Review
