Just returned from a long weekend at Llandudno in the Brig Y Don. This hotel is on the front and could be a lovely place if they ever decide to clean and refurbish it also if they decide to buy better quality food. When we arrived it was obvious that it was not the best as it stood out like a sore thumb beside the other hotels, the garden(and I use the term loosely) was a disgrace no way would anyone sit out there if they were lucky to get good weather. Inside the carpets looked if they had been laid in the sixties and they had net curtains which I do not think had been washed since about the same time. We got a room on the third floor and when we came out of the dirty lift we had to go down seven stairs go across a small landing and up seven stairs, not very good for elderly people and it is usually elderly people that go at this time of year. The bedroom was filthy cobwebs on the ceiling, the window was so dirty you could hardly see out of it. The bathroom had the same carpet as in the bedroom same age I would assume as the rest of the carpets and there was no toilet mats for when you came out of the bath, it was reasonably clean and they did give us nice new towels so that was a good point.but they spoiled that with using paper cups . The cupboard for hanging your clothes was a disgrace and I just left the clothes in the case as it was only a long weekend a very long weekend. The dinning room was of the same calibre as the rest all the utensils looked as if they had came into service pre sixties. The food was bland and very stodgy the soup had a taste that was beyond discription and this hotel was aledgidly all inclusive but I had to pay 50p for a glass of flat coco cola. This is the second time I have used Urquhart Travel twice in the past year and I was happy with the last place but after this I would think twice before using them again or recomending them. The only good points of the trip, Driver.Towels, and a new TV in room the rest was DISGUSTING.
