Booked a family room with budgetplaces, when we arrived at the hotel having paid out over £16 in taxi fares we were told in reception they didn't have a reservation for us,they also couldn't help us because they were fully booked,I contacted budget by phone who emailed me 3 alternatives hotels in the city centre,so after getting yet another taxi we headed off to the other hotel omg it turned out to be a scruffy hostel,I had my 2 young daughters and my 3 year old grandson with me thankfully the manager said no under 10 year old,by this time my grandson was very tired and grumpy all the other alterative hotels were very expensive and I had no choice but to travel back home which took over 2 hours, never ever will I use these peaple all I can say is BEWARE

Confirmation recieved of booking for 3 (double and single) for 1 night. We drove from Saturday 0900 am and arrived at hotel at 1900 to be told we had no room, but not to worry they had found us a room at holiday inn 2 single beds (their was 3 of us). We had had an email to say they had found a different hotel for us (holiday inn, we had booked a 4 star hotel) however we didnt have internet, a missed call 1 hour before we reach hotel we tried to call back and it was busy or no answer. There was no other hotels in area as festa time so we had no choice but to drive through the night to France resulting us more problems. So our lovely relaxing holiday ended in a stressful situation where I was in tears. Disgusted with this company!

My wife and I booked a hotel through budgetplaces via topcashback as their price with cashback was the most competitive. budgetplaces took the full cost of the hotel upfront. When we arrived at the hotel we found the budgetplaces hotel description was inaccurate and there was no fridge in the room so we ended up having to buy a coolbox and ice to store my husband's medication). budgetplaces ignored our complaint, refused to pay the cashback and will not reply to emails. From reading reviews elsewhere, it seems that once budgetplaces have your money they wash their hands of you.We will never use budgetplaces again and would advise others to choose another (any other!) company before parting with their money as you are probably not going to get what you think you are paying for. I will never use them again and would give them zero stars if I could.

I am writing this review to save other people from using budgetplace.com website. I have been traveling the world and this is the last platform that I will ever use! Budgetplace.com is provider of a cheap accommodations around the world sounds good? Yeah I have been tricked as well, despite being careful ( and yes I read terms and conditions ) - it is actually filled with number of misleading promotions and problems. Customer service is completely unhelpful and basically you are not able to contact them because no one is answering phones. It takes them around a week to get back to you by e-mail and you probably spend fortune on your phone by calling them. They are calling themselves a channel not a website so they don't want to take responsibility for their promotions or providers on their website. Majority of providers are not even real hotels but as lots of accommodations are far away from what is stated on the website. Anyone can post on budgetplace.com website thus there is no credibility whether provider is honest or not as no one is actually verifying it! You will end up with apartment or hotel room that isn't what you have seen on the photo and you might end up not having room at all. Also they have very unclear cancellation policies as well as refund. You will be sent from one to another provider and no one will help you. They are unwilling to refund anything unless you take them to the court. Also, they will add some weird charges to your account and you will be overcharge! So please don't believe that website. If you look into past comments from other people this website has poor rating and please don't trust them. Sometimes when browsing via budgetplace.com website you will be taken to other sites such as booking.com. Watch out on Budgetplace.com as they are claiming that they have 'budgetpartners' and please be careful here...they are not all partners. They try to trick customers as they won't allow on their website to filter them and it becomes impossible to find any of them...I would even speculate that there is none...its only their 'backup' so they don't need top deal with disappointed customers. On the top of all of that there are number of hidden costs that site does not tell you about until after or during purchase which is again for many very confusing and misleading. I had terrible experience with them on every occasion. Tried to give them second chance and the failed to deliver they actually could not provide me what they promise at all. The whole process of booking with budgetplace.com will leave you worry and frustrated. Those 'budgetpartners' are only limited branch across millions of other providers on their site. You won't know who are they until you pay money...and then its too late to change anything. Lack of information and transparency on their website its only a one out of hundreds other problems. If you think about budgetplace.com please don't do this as there are number of way better and actually cheaper providers who are much better in they transparency, customer service and everything else. I am just hoping I will save someones money, time and not needed stress. Please stay away from this provider they just care about your money not you as a customer!! You might end up without money and a room so please be careful as they are not legitimate company!!

I booked a hotel with budgetplaces.com Unfortunately I booked for the wrong date. I cancelled the booked well in advance (over 6 weeks in advance). When booking the accommodation the cancellation policy said that a refund would be given for the deposit if cancelled a month prior to the date of stay. I cancelled well in advance of the month notice and the refund was processed. What is not clear when booking is that the refund is given in the form of a credit. The credit can then only be used for the prepaid portion of a booking - somewhere around 10% of the total booking. Further this can only be used on accommodation which is partnered with "budgetplaces.com". Budgetplaces.com works like a search engine and shows many accommodation options available at 3rd party websites - all of these options - are unable to be booked using the credit. eg. the website search might return 200 hotels, however only 3 of them are partner hotels where you can use your credit towards. So you will have great difficulty trying to use the credit. Basically this website is dishonest in that this policy is not clearly stated until AFTER you make a booking. This information is only shown in the confirmation email - too late. I hope this helps others to either avoid this website or be aware that they are misleading in their practices and avoid. Other websites such as agoda, hotels.com, booking.com and many others all have transparent policies which are fair on customers.

I have booked a hotel via this website in New York. After the money being paid just two days before my flight I received an email that I have to confirm my place, when I already received a confirmation from the website a couple of days before that. I was given a number that I called more than 10 times and got answered only once, and an email which they do not reply properly. All I ended up was being in the airport, and calling the hotel and going directly to the hotel. I did email the website regarding the problem but at first they said we have no refund, after a couple of emails they said they credit that into my account. make sure you read the Terms and condition, it will be way easier to call the hotel directly than to book via this website.

Prices seemed low, but not all charges were included. Had to pay 60USD extra (15 USD per night - 4 nights), which was not mentioned at booking. Feel tricked. Complained at budgetplaces, with no succes. Got a bad excuse, referring to general conditions.

Advertised on Quidco as giving 30% cash back on bookings However, on many bookings they only allow a deposit and some low cost bookings they don't even take payment. Therefore no cash back available. Also looking at other reviews, there a problems with this site in general... so avoid

We booked, paid a deposit to Budgetplaces and according to their terms and conditions pre authorised full payment on arrival. Full payment was taken by the accommodation soon after the deposit. Eventually got it back. Accepted it as a mistake but guess what, it happened again. This time they played dumb. On advice from our bank we cancelled our card. Duly the accommodation cancelled our booking. We are now £700 down and the bank are pursuing services not rendered.

We were on holiday in June 2014 and unfortunately had a bad experience with Aaphotel in Berlin that we booked through budgetplaces.com for 3 nights. Upon arrival we were asked to wait, which took in total more than 2 hours. During this time we asked multiple times when our room would be ready but we were still told to wait. After 2 hours it appeared that there was no room ready for us at all! Even though we had made a reservation beforehand! This was a very unpleasant surprise. I got quite upset because I find it ridiculous - mostly because nothing was communicated towards us. Unfortunately we were not the only ones who were waiting, there was also a family with children (that clearly needed to go to bed) and several other tourists. We also talked with these people and they had the same experience and even asked what our plan was for spending the night. Eventually the owner tried to get us to stay in a hostel room, although we booked a hotel room. Again, without explaining that this was his plan, we were brought to a 2 meter wide room with nothing more in it than one single bed (and there were two of us). This was so absurd, I almost laughed. Or, we could stay for the same money in 4 star hotel 10 km god-knows-where further away. We declined, of course. I was extremely disappointed because I was looking forward to our visit to Berlin and this was not a great start. Lucky for us there was a Ibis budget hotel across the street. From the reactions of the cleaning staff and staff at the desk I could tell that this was not happening for the first time. This is occurring more often and it seemed to me that the staff was pretty sick and tired of it as well. I emailed back and forth with customer service but I don't think anything is going to change. As a result I am forced to give a very negative review - this hotel is very unfriendly to travellers.

My son booked a surprise week away in Bournemouth for him and his girlfriend. Unbeknownst to him Budget Places charged over £90 for the privilege of making the reservation on his behalf. Like so many young people he's on a tight budget and there was no apparent indication of this charge that is over and above the cost of the hotel. Buyer Beware.....

I booked via budgetplaces.com for a stay in Brooklyn. The website and the hotel were both fraudulent. The website deducted $74 from my account for the booking. When i went to the hotel, they denied my booking. They did not receive any reservation from this site. Also, the Customer service for this website is really very very bad. There is no way to talk to any agent. I mailed the reservations email address couple of times for my refund of $74, but no response at all regarding my case. The phone number on the website does not take you to an agent. It only asks you to leave a voicemail, for which they never respond. I think the website is a fraudulent one. DO NOT TAKE A CHANCE WITH BUDGETPLACES.COM

I've booked with budgetplaces recently and didn't listen to any of the reviews. bad idea. I booked my hotel reservation a few months in advance and everything was fine. I called the hotel a few times and they confirmed my reservation. ONE DAY before my trip I received a phone call from budgetplaces asking me for my MasterCard or visa number because the hotel didn't accept my American express, she even read back my full american express card number so that I knew it was budgetplaces. I knew something was up so I said I'll call her back, and I received an email from budgetplaces right after I hung up the phone stating my reservation may be cancelled if I don't call back. I first called the hotel and they accepted all credit cards. When I tried to call back that budgetplaces number it was a Skype number so I couldn't get in touch with anyone. So I called back their customer service line and finally got a hold of someone who said that no one from their company called me. I called the hotel and they said that someone changed my reservation from my original 3 nights to just 1 night. It was a mess. Finally the hotel manager, not budgetplaces, handled my situation and gave me three nights.

Budgetplaces requires that you pay a deposit when you make a reservation. This deposit is not refundable, except if you have an account with them then your deposit can be used towards future purchases. I made a reservation that the hotel then said it would be unable to fulfill. I still did not get my money back so now I have 171 euros stuck in the accounts of Budgetplaces. They have refused to refund me and have also not sent me information on where my money is located. In essence, they have taken 171 euros of my money.

i made a reservation via budgetplaces thinking that the cancellation policy would be 1 night's charge if cancel within 1-2 days of reservation date. it was not until after i made the reservation and provided credit card number that i became aware that cancellation penalty would be 10% of reservation charge to be applied toward "credit" on future BP reservation. i wrote to customer service, explaining that this wasn't clear and that i did not anticipate making another budget place reservation. they will not refund my 10%, nor are they responding to my request for response from supervisor. their policies are not transparent, they will just take advantage. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. REPORT TO BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND ALL CONSUMER ADVOCACY WEBSITES.

They failed to honour the terms as per the confirmation email, they gave incorrect details to the apartment vendor. They totally messed me around, I got conflicting email replies from the apartment vendor vs what budget places emails claimed. They then refuse to refund my money, they breach data protection laws, they are not PCI compliant. Their customer service is diabolical.. the list goes on.... DO NOT TOUCH WITH A BARGE POLL!
