Recently I have used this booking site a lot.
On Two occasions now I have been left out of pocket and without a place to stay.
I was very disappointed by the standard of the room and standard of service I experienced, 'AFTER I HAD PAID ONLINE'. When I asked about cancelling I was told by the establishment that there was no money back policy. I was abruptly told it was not their problem and to go take matters up with booking.com
I was given a refund in writing booking.com took the payment and the refund never materialised.
It is impenetrable when trying to get hold of anyone and I found that the fact that the establishment had taken your card payment details they could play you off against bookin.com. I quickly found myself dealing hostile and aggressive Staff at the accommodation.
This is the second occasion where I have been disappointed by the room and the attitude of staff only to be told that if you don't like it here you can't have a refund. 'Not our problem speak to booking.com'
I am looking at the small claims court with regard to one of them.
Don't book if there is a no money back clause no cancellation policy in the small print.
Some establishments appear to be playing on this by being unpleasant giving you a hard to let room and frankly not caring a dam if you try to cancel.
