Hotel booked through booking.com and 11 days prior to flying we were informed the hotel was closing for a refurb? The hotel had already taken our money. All afternoon and many phone calls trying to find new accommodation, several of which were advertised as having space were in fact also closing. Booking.com wanted us to rebook and repay for a new hotel even though we no longer have the money? Staff sympathetic but that has not helped me! I will be claiming compensation for time off work, phone calls, stress, upset and frustration. We have found somewhere but I am worried they will be closed too!
