Cancellation doesn't work even if you cancelled it in time. Statements on the site aren't true. Communication with support is terrible. They deny all the facts, even after forwarding email thread with hotel representatives with clear evidences of problem on booking.com side. Even more, it's impossible to reach support by phone in Ukraine! Terrible service!

I'm sorry to hear of your experience. If you cancel on the site, prior to the cancellation deadline (in the hotel's time) you should not be penalized. Booking.com customer service is available 24 hours a day by phone and via e-mail to assist. I'd like to look into your case, so I would appreciate if you could provide your booking number.
