We travel very frequently and almost always through booking.com. It is hassle-free, quick and reliable. I like that there is the choice of typing in comments and requests to the hotel at the time of booking to ensure that you have indeed requested (for instance) a room with a view, not looking into a brick wall. This is especially important in the larger cities. When it is on your booking file the hotel is much more agreeable to following instructions as much as possible.
