We had confirmed booking on the Golden Gate Hostel Inn in Jerusalem from booking.com. However when we arrived the clerk, looked at the confirmation paper, and told us there was no reservation in theri record. Suspiciously, the clerk told us the phone# on the confirmation paper was Petra Hostel's. He called and said our reservation was over there, which was more than half kilometer away. The following day we called booking.com to complain about the incident. Ashely in booking.com answered the phone. She called the Golden Gate immediately then got back with us. She said the Golden Gate told her we were offered to check the room, disliked the room and cancelled the confirmation. We're shock to hear such big lie. We told her no such procedure happeded in the Golden Gate. But Ashley simply took the word from the Golden Gate and implied it was our fault. Clearly, there was a conspiracy cooked between the two hostels to swindle booking.com. The problem is booking.com was dumbfound but still no helping us as consumers. Just watch if you book through booking.com it's not guarantee you're going to have the room and worst of all, don't expect their support if there is disputation between you and the proprietor.
