What is pissing off is ucertainty:
"Public parking is possible on site (reservation is not needed) and charges are applicable" - now think about selecting a budget hotel in Venice/Mestre: room is ~Eur60-70/day and parking ranges from Eur5 to Eur26 and EUR40 ... Same regarding the Internet access: from Eur2/hr to Eur4/24hrs and local taxes ... Another theme is [public] transportation. Most sites recommend to leave a car [at hotel] and use a public transportation. Maximum what I saw in a hotel annotation was a distance to a train station or a bus stop. And how often busses come to that stop? Every 10' or once a day?!! And where are they heading afterwards? To Padua?! I coudnot find a general bus routs map in internet, Google also could not go through these local guys sketches and offers to take a taxi from a hotel to train station [both in downtown!].
I strongly believe that is booking.com responsiblity and interest to strait up this things and put some pressure on hotels to force them to submit detailed information and check it from time to time. As well as verifying hotels positioning on your map, because learning that your hotel is situated in 2 km from the place you it was, when you make an orderwalking one extra mile to a bus stop is not a fun, especially in summer.
