I have tried on a number of occasions to book using a Maestro card issued in Ireland. The site keeps telling me I have entered a wrong number when I have not. It also asks for a start date and an issue date which are not on Irish Maestro cards. I have had to book direct with the hotels on some occasions because of this sometimes missing out on offers that can only be booked online.
I am currently waiting over a month for a refund to be made for a hotel that was closed when I arrived. Booking.com advised the hotel would contact me directly to arrange a refund which has not happened.They did not offer any explanation as to why the hotel was closed and would not offer any compensation for the higher price I had to pay for another hotel I had to pay 15 miles away at close to midnight. There is no postal address for booking.com that I can write to. All in all the refund policy is very poor-in my case non existant
