On May 13, 2014 I tried to book a hotel that I thought was a great deal. When I was in the process of making a reservation, BookIt web site would not accept it and it keeps saying "error" and to enter city and state where I live. Even though I already entered the info. After trying it 3x and got frustrated, I exited the web site. An hour later when I checked my email, I had an email confirming the booking. It stated that it would take 7 days for the hotel to receive my booking. It also stated the the hotel/resort has a $56.00 resort fee plus $16.00 self- parking and I think it says $22.00 for valet. I called BookIt customer service to cancel it. They said the hotel charge $19.95 for cancellation fee and $25.00 if I use live customer service to do the cancellation. I explained to them that the email I received states that it would take 7 days for the hotel to get my reservation, but it had only been an hour since I tried to make the reservation and they already want to charge me $19.95. I went to the hotel actual web site and their hotel cancellation policy states that I have 3 days prior to arrival to cancel without fee. My arrival date is not until June 6 and I tried to cancel it on May 13th. The resort fee is also only $22.00. Customer service and BookIt web site state they understand and that they care about changes in customers' plan, but they want to charge you $25.00 to cancel a reservation even I explained their web site was the one screwed up with the reservation. What was I thinking trying this company!? NEVER AGAIN! I will use Expedia again where there's no cancellation fee. Or make reservation directly from the resort.
