I was booking a trip for a friend and I to Cabo San Lucas at the Sandos Finisterra. I liked the rate and all-inclusive deal so I decided to book it. When I tried to book it, the site kept timing out on me. I received an itinerary email from Bookit.com, but no confirmation number or anything. Thus, I called the number provided in the email and the lady said it looks like it did not go through. She tried to help me over the phone and it would not go through with her either. Confused and frustrated, I got off the phone with the lady as she was no help. A few minutes later, I received a call from a different person at Bookit.com and she tried to help me book the trip again. She was unable to do so as well and the website kept timing out on her part also. AFter another try on the representative's part, it would not go through. She said she wanted to try and book the plane ticket, then the resort after to apply the flight+hotel discount. Somehow some way, she was able to get the plane tickets, but for way more money and an extra $50 fee for having her book it over the phone. I was incredibly unhappy about the sudden bait and switch as I needed this flight + hotel as I am to meet with other friends on this trip who booked it only a few minutes prior to me. All in all, I was able to get my plane ticket + hotel reservation, but the whole process took me over an hour and the trip ended up costing at least $100+ more than the price which I tried to pay online. Next time, I am most likely going to go with the bigger traveling websites like Expedia.com to try and avoid this.
