My recent stay at the Metropole Miami was horrible for the amount we paid for the 2BR Suite. I understand these are renovated buildings; however, they are not up to par. The halls were musty and carpets appeared dirty. The lighting in the bedrooms were horrible. Only small lamps. Due to Memorial Day weekend, streets closets to the beach were blocked off, which unfortunately was one near our hotel, so it took an hour to move 5 miles (not the hotels fault). The valet procedure at the hotel was horrible. On top of the 1K we paid for a two-night stay, valet was an extra $32 a night and we had to walk two blocks to get our car. Valet didn’t even bring it to the hotel. This information was not communicated to us at the time of check-in. Who wants to walk two blocks to pick up their car on a corner? And it gets better.. The one night we did request our car to go out, it was not in the location they said it would be and we waited over an hour dressed up the Miami heat trying to figure it out. After about five calls to the hotel, someone came out to help us and they could not locate our car. It was a total mess. Finally, found the car parked on a corner with the valet man sitting inside talking on his phone.. Really…Although, in a great location, I would not stay at this place ever again..
